“(Moses said): ‘Each man strap a sword to his side. Go back and forth through the camp from one end to the other, each killing his brother and friend and neighbour’. The Levites did as Moses commanded, and that day about three thousand of the people died.” (Exodus 32:27-28, NIV)

It is also a well-known fact that the total number of deaths that took place in ALL the wars fought during the time of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was 1018. The biblical quotation given above and many such quotations appear to escape the grasp of those who allege against Muhammad (pbuh), further ignoring the words of Jesus:

“Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.”
(Matthew 7:1-2 KJV)

Well, now u know how it looks when people just twist around meanings to satisfy their needs. Mohammad didn't do any savage butchery or anything like that. U guys seem to think "Don't take verses out of context." Well, agreed. Don't do that to the Quran or the life of Mohammad either. Study those things and then accuse of thoses things we never did.

Moses had every right to be imaptient because of wron-doers. Well, dosn't Mohammad PBUH has any right??? The entire village was killed because one woman was raped. Islamic Sharia law states that only the rapist should be killed, not the entire valley or whatever.

When I posted this question, many came up to defend their prophet. I agree with them all. I don't hate Moses. He is in the Quran too. But the thing which bothers me is, why don't u go to the context of the Quran and Mohammad's life before u believe every rubbish said against him. There r fanatics in every religions but for goodnes sake, Quran is not fake n Mohammad was not a fanatic. Leave these two things alone

This was done to quell a rebellion.

We do it today.

In Iraq Soldiers are humiliating people and the US and does the government go after the officers or the small soliders.

They pick 20 soliders, try them, convict them and discharge them dishonorably.

This teach ALL the soliders NOT to follow bad orders.

Moses had a rebellioin on his hands and he called for the Loyal and told them to go off and kill a segement of the unloyal.

The remaining unloyal now have a choice. Fall in line or get out.

This is not a very good pratise, but it does work.

Hitler used it.

The Kaiser used it.

I'll be Napoleon used it.

Saddam used it.

Stalin used it.

It works.

Sad but true, it works.

We are all in a bomb shelter because an A bomb hits. people rebel and break into the store room to get food and eat their fill, rather than live on rations, the people in charge starting KILLING people randomly.

You see that happen and you fall in line for fear YOU will be next.

IT's not a good way of doing things, but when 1 man is faced with 20,000 or 200,000 they are opposed to HIM, he makes a point.

Kill 3,000 people and 30,000 learn to fear you.

Have you never SPANKED a child for no reason, just because they needed a spanking!

well i will keep it short and simple. yes we all agree moses(pbuh) was a very impatient man but he was not bad or angry young man as u say. it was just that he was a little intolerant towards wrong - dooers. (refer surah al-khaf from quran)

and u must know it why. do u know that moses (pbuh) is the only man who is mentioned more in the quran than any other prophet, even more than adam and eve, abraham, muhammed, or jesus himself(pbut) .

and do u know why God loved him so much and the reason for moses to be so impatient ? because he was raised as a pharoah. moses (pbuh) was a man who had a choice to stay with luxuries and power or leave his luxuiries and follow the path of God.

and for any man who has been well-brought up, it is diificult and hard decision. and part of the impatience in him is due to this reason that all his life he was living like a pharoah, until the day he got to know he was not pharoah's son.

and by the way moses(pbuh) is now in 5th heaven and may the peace and blessings of Allah be with him.

wow you really mix things up and around to say what you want dont you. and that chapter is right after the 10 commandments were given so in 40 days the people went from seeing gods vissage decend and they quaked with fear then after 40 days they said god has killed moses aaron build us a new god. so yeah those that turned away were killed. what lesson can we learn from this. no matter what you see if you see it often enough or not often enought you will become used to it and will move toward evil.

the bible is a collection of works for different time frames. some of it is incredibly violent and perverse. how long did muhammad live after beginning his ministry? savage butchery in the name of religion is common human behavior. my god is bigger than your god kind of s***.
