I don't eat organs. The word liver just sounds sick to eat. I could be wrong and it be the best thing in the world but not if the gross factor wont let you swallow it.

It's not gross to me and never has been - assuming we are talking about beef liver. Calves liver is the best, fried gently and served with both bacon and onions.

Unfortunately, due to an elevated cholesterol level, I can no longer have liver, in spite of its valuable iron content - I miss this meal!

Well, I've always liked liver.

But many people don't care for the smell of it--nor do they like the taste or the texture.

And SOME people who don't usually care for liver will like it if it's mixed up with other things, such as in a pate.

Liver: An organ in the upper abdomen that aids in digestion and removes waste products and worn-out cells from the blood.

This is why I don't eat liver.

The problem is that you have to know how to cook it to taste good. For flyleaf: it tastes like shoe leather if you over cook it. You should try the way i do it. Even kids love it.

Probably because the only way most of us were served it was cooked in a pan with no seasonings and served with onions. BLECH! And it stinks to high heaven when cooking!

Maybe we don't cook it right here, because to us liver tastes like shoe leather, press-board, and mashed up Lima beans. :)

Because most of us didn't grow up eating it regularly, and yeah, when they do make it, it's kind of gross tasting to us.

Yeah , I was brought up believing it was very healthy ( protein etc., iron...) but it is the part of body that filters crap in our systems so how can it really be that healthy?
