Ohhhh my goodness I seriously want to cry right now, actually i am crying as I type. this just deeply touched my heart. My first love left almost 5 years ago to play sports in another state and he recently came back and I realized that it feels like yesterday when we were in LOVE.

I dont think you are crazy , I believe that this is amazing and sad at the same time, especially if you cant be with that person.

First love never dies, I dont know why , i thought I was crazy myself for only 5 years but 20 years ? wow .... i think that will be me in 15 years asking the same question.

First Love has something magical, that first feeling of experiencing a kind of love different than what you knew. different than your parents or families love.

Being Loved by a person for who you are , changes us, in my case it made me the person I am today , for I am sure that Your first Love influenced and touched you.

i dont know what exactly it is , but First Love is unbelievable.

FOr me, it is bittersweet, but i hope for you it doesnt have to be.

You never know, maybe you can reconnect and end up being one of the cutest , most romantic love stories of all times that you can tell your grandchildren about.

Live every moment to the fullest ..... Live ..... Love .... ;)

I'm glad you got a chance to see him again. Assuming that he reciprocates, let's put it this way - if you were to write a novel or make a film about it, then it wouldn't be crazy, it would be the highest art known to humankind. That's the stuff that great romances are made of, and everyone, even the toughest sceptic, knows that. That's why 'Wuthering Heights' is considered one of the best novels ever written.

But if you place it in a mundane context, then it will look crazy.

The real question is - if you've just met him again, and he still loves you, can you make it work in daily life, not in the grand fantasy? That's the real test. I know some few people who have done this -- but I know many many more who didn't have the strength or courage or characters to manage it.

Once you love someone there will always be a place in your heart for that person. If they come back into your life they stir up old feelings and yes, a lot of people remember first love as sweet and special. You are not crazy, There was a reason you were attracted to him in the first place and it is still there. Go with it if you can. Who knows what can happen.

No you are most certainly not crazy.
It's true your first real love never dies.
But maybe it's because you haven't had any good relationships and you tend to remember the "good times" you had with him and who knows he may not be the same as he was 20 years ago.

I am dealing with the same situation. I am not over my first love after 12 years. The relationship was not healthy and I still want to be with him. Regardless of what I suffered in the relationship, I still have many fond memories of him and I would love to hear from him. Believe me sweetie, you are not crazy. You are human.

Nope. Not crazy. I know what you mean. Except it's only been 7 years, not 20.

But, I would never leave my husband for him. My first love is a alcoholic now... so... yeah... I really dont *want* him. It's just all the memories I had with him

Crazy? No! I saw my first 'love' a couple of months ago (it had been 25 yrs) and I melted. He had just got married for the first time too, so I had to congratulate him and pretend to be happy for him.

I don't think it's crazy. People always, IMHO, carry their first love(s) with them. I can remember every detail of the first time I saw Melinda, my first girlfriend. That was 35 years ago.

You will always hold a special place in your heart for your first love. You are not crazy at all.
