lost 60 lbs. took over a year. i just used portion control and worked out 3 days a week. kept it off for 3 yrs now and i've never felt better. there was no food i avoided, i just ate one cookie instead of 6, or a small handful of chips instead of the bag. i've tried every diet there is and this is what finally worked for me.

I lost 45 lbs. on a low carb diet. I did it in about 2 months. Yeah, it worked, and my cholesterol went down as well.

Problem, as I was also working out, I injured myself as I have a tendency to work out too hard. Result, I was no longer in the low low carb phase and gained about 30 back lickedity split. So now, after going low carb again what is happening? I lost 10 lbs. and the rest just ain't going nowhere, and I'm in good shape physically. My cholesterol is also excellent. If I touch carbs again back it comes. As long as I'm healthy I'm satisfied. I think since I dieted the first time my metabolism has slowed down (I'm older) so I'm not sure it's the diet. That said, if you do this, stay in shape (at least through recreation or keeping busy,) and do not hurt yourself. I used a cain for about 5 months. It was painful.

I did keep it off for over 2 years before the injury, and if you eat protein you don't have to give up veggies or salad.

Good luck.

I am still working on losing the weight I gained when I had thyroid cancer last year.
I don't avoid any foods, I just try to make certain foods a treat (ice cream, chocolate, ect...) and have a smaller portion.
I need to start eating more fruits and veggies, but I do well with whole grains.
I try to talk a walk daily-- even if its just for 10 minutes.

I have other health issues and my doc said to shoot for losing 3 pounds a month to avoid stressing my heart.
I am trying to look at it as a lifestyle, rather than trying to lose many pounds at once.

Good luck!

47 pounds (238 to 191!)... Cut back on carbs, ate more protein. Didn't really exercise more because I'm very active anyway. The biggest thing I cut, was cereal in the morning. Sometimes I'd eat two bowls. When I wanted to lose weight, I measured out one actual serving, and knew I was probably eating like six servings for breakfast. That's when I knew I needed to cut the cereal. It took me eight months, and I've kept it off for over two years. I still don't eat cereal for breakfast anymore. Since I cut my carb intake, and became aware of what I was really eating, I actually don't get hungry like I used to. Good luck!

I would suggest a cleansing diet. I did this and lost 11 pounds and 16 inches in 9 days. I like the program since it works by giving your body nutrition through protein shakes with digestive enzymes and vitamins and then cleansing out the toxins. We get toxins in our bodies from pesticides, preservatives, water, pollution, medications, food additives etc…. These toxins enter our bodies and get coated with fat. To remove the extra fat, we need to get rid of the toxins through cleansing. The program also has a natural diet pill to help your metabolism and curb cravings. It works and it works fast. I lost 30 pounds in 5 weeks and I feel great. My skin has improved as well from the cleansing. You can get more info at this toll free number 1-877-587-4647. I think cleansing is really important to health and weight loss. Give it a try and good luck!
