4thwatch..by NO means did I mean NOT to read the old testament. I simply mean Jesus died, therefore we don't have to do some of the things mentioned therein ie...offer living sacrifices!!!

That is a good question. I go thru the bible looking for scriptures to encourage me, and direct me. I am not sure why other people go thru the bible.

Dear Proud American,
Jesus had a very high regard for the Old Testament. I think we should too. Don't forget that when the Apostle Paul talked about the Scriptures that were able to make you know about salvation he was talking about the Old Testament. If you don't study the Old Testament you are missing most of your Bible!

If the Old Testament isn't important then why is it included in the bible? If we should use the Old Testament shouldn't it be taken out of the bible? I thought it was there to teach people things. I didn't know we were only supposed to read the New Testament and study it alone. What is the rest for, toilet paper?

Your correct! I think that some people, that are trying to prove themselves right, take the scriptures out of context, be it the Old Testament or the New Testament.
Unfortunately, some do not see it that way.

(2Ti 3:16 KJV) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

(Mat 5:17 KJV) Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfilll.

Christ did not take the place of the law, by His own words, He came to fulfil the law by being the only one to ever exist on this earth without sin.

I can't speak for everyone, I can only speak for myself. I look at the Scriptures to learn the best way to live my life according to what God would want.
Unfortunately, many (WAY too many) do use the Scripture to make a big deal out of things....only to make themselves look and feel important. God has laid out the way we should live and I don't ever remember reading where God said "go out and make a butthead of yourself spouting scripture when you don't live by it".

God tells us to love one another as He has loved us. There is a scripture that says "Judge not, lest ye be judged" but there is also a scripture that says something to the effect of "when you judge, judge righteously"....according to God's word, NOT what you think or feel about a situation! (Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.)

Christ, Himself, said He did not come to abolish the law!(Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.)

I am afraid that many Christians need exuses to hate this, hate that... all in order to feel better about themselves...by comparison??? It is not the road to enlightenment, that is for sure. They lead such pitiful lives, they try to make theirs look better by running others down. Unfortunately, they do skip the scripture "Judge not lest ye be judged." That on is too close to home, so it is best left IN the book.

somewhat specific, the Bible teaches that. As you factor out, a relationship with God with the aid of Christ is important, a remember of existence and loss of life. however the Bible the two teaches and encourages know for and the will of a company. God himself delivered his human beings out of Egypt and set them up in a notably prepared way. truthfully, with the mandating of 613 statutes and policies, the instituting of a priesthood and the creation of a notably prepared way of sacrifice, those form of helped them to worship him exact and, for this and different motives, the classic united states of Israel made up a particular non secular business enterprise – the only one God recognized. To worship God you had to alter into component of that business enterprise, you had to alter right into a Jewish proselyte. whilst our Lord and King Christ Jesus delivered into existence the Christian congregation interior the 1st century together with his apostles and disciples, rather with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, it replaced right into a company. To worship God acceptably, one had to alter right into a baptized Christian and know the authority of that congregation and its older adult men in Jerusalem. There are countless scriptures that instruct this in Acts. So specific, scripture teaches that worship of God has continuously been interior the framework of a company. The id of that business enterprise is yet another remember completely. Hannah J Paul

To figure it all out.

It's all supposed to be there.

If you read it and figure it all out then you know everything!

That is until someone else quotes another scripture that conflicts with your thesis!
