If they lie knowing they will just repent later then God will deal with that person when the time comes. It clearly states in the Bible "not to sin purposely knowing you will just ask to be forgiven later. Only God controls who goes to heaven and who goes to hell. Judge not or ye will be judged with the same harshness.

If a true believer(Christian) lies, it does not unilaterally mean they are going to hell.
We as Christians are unable to make that judgement, because the real lie would be what was in that persons heart. Meaning if I simply profess to be a Christian, but continue to live just like I did before I professed this belief, I am not really a Christian, I am only saying I am, for whatever reason that I might feel the need to state that I am something I am not.
Now , if in my heart I am a true believer and I slip up (fall, turn away, etc.) I will know right away that I have done this and I will feel the need to repent (turn away from that sin) and ask forgivness for that sin. Sometimes Christians slip gradually and cannot and do not see that they have done this, but once it is brought to their attention, they will see the error of their ways and repent and ask forgiveness.
There are true Christians who would sin openly and knowingly against God. I have heard of this happening and from the stories I have heard, about the time that this happens, God seems to take these people home to him, almost as if they have finished their usefullness to God here on earth. It certainly happened with Moses, and God did take him home. So , It can happen now a days also.

Either you were reading it incorrectly or they were mistaken. If you could never have ever lied, stolen, or done any other sin, then none of us would make it. We ALL have sinned (Romans 3:23). The only perfect human being that has every lived was Jesus Christ, and He was perfect because He is God.
My entrance to heaven is not dependent on anything * I * do, but only on what Jesus Christ has already done on the cross. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
When Jesus died on the cross, He paid the price for ALL sins, past, present and future so EVERYTHING was forgiven on that cross. Whether we accept the forgiveness or not is what determines whether we are going to heaven or hell. A person in prison who receives a pardon must accept it in order to be freed or he will remain where he is with the same sentence, even death. God doesn't force us to accept the pardon, but He gives us all the option.

If they are truly a Christian and not just saying it than they cannot go to hell. Christ died for the sins of the world past, present and future. Your friend wasn't even thought of let alone born when christ died. He made a full atonement for every sin that ever was or would be committed as long as the believer received what He did on their behalf. Did He do a partial work on the cross, that is died for some sins and not others? I think not. No one ever said that once we received Christ we'd stop sinning. Not one of us can so if your friend lies the penelty for that sin has already been paid BUT Christ often said, "Go and sin no more" meaning sinning intentionaly figuring it was all paid for anyway. We still have to make an attempt to walk in Christ's ways and to repent in our heart when we know we have sinned..

None of us are perfect or can claim to be Jesus. We all make mistakes. If we were perfect we would be God. Try your best in life, I am sure you will do fine, and no you are not going to hell for a lie, because if that was true, heaven would be completely empty. As far as stealing is concerned, just don't do it. If you did, just try again not to. God is forgiving. As far as lustful thoughts, we are all human and have moments. If you take that lust and have sex with hundreds of guys, well that's different. God knows us, he made us. Try your best is all he asks.

Christians are forbidden to judge. This is not a question any Christian can answer. Anyone who does is on the level of a football fan arguing with the referee's call. God is the only referee. Argue if you like, but never think yourself His equal.

Liars and stealers are somewhat in trouble.
Lustful thoughts, everyone has that at one point in time.
Lustful ACTIONS are another thing!
God judges you by what you DO in life.
If you think evil but do good, then it's obvious that God has won out over satan.
Satan helps you with the evil thoughts, but when push comes to shove and you do go instead, you follow God.
