That is a really good question. With both breeds it depends on their lines. Some lines in either breed only 8-10 and then there are other lines in both that are 12-14+. If you are thinking about getting either breed, ask the breeder how old some of the relatives are.

The average is 8-11 years. Some die young, and others live to be really really old. Health problems usually set in about years 8-9 though.

Depending on different variables, 12-14 years. It is best to get your dog neutered. Not neutering a female heightens the chances for ovarian cancer. Good diet, weight control play an important part too.

They live about a decade. They are both some of the most loyal dogs. Only problem with them is that they shed like crazy and are not good dogs for people with allergies. Other than that, they are perfect.

If you do not let them get overweight (very important) you can count on him for 12 years.
