you know normally i wouldnt answer such a pointless question but when i look there we no answers to this question that was right answers and alot of misunderstood view points. first off whats the big deal about jacobs dream of this ladder to heaven. y critisize him over a dream when at one time very eduacted men and women thought the world was flat that someone could actually fall off the earth people believed this was true jacob only had a dream. now loke most dreams there was a point to it a hiddin message in a sense. this is the answer to the question that will give everyone an understanding . now when adam and eve sinned they seperated humanity from God. before that mankind had a relationship with God after sin that relationship was severed. mankind was now lost and with no hope, God now needed to have a way of redeeming his creation and that way was jesus christ. now God used abrahams lineage to bring the messiah into the world and all thru abrahams lineage God would communicate with abrahams seed. jacob was abrahams grandson. now that dream of the ladder was a vision givin to him to show him (jacob) that God had a plan to redeem us from sin so we could have that relationship with God again. that ladder linked heven and earth God is in heaven but man had no way of getting there and God is holy man is not so here in lies the problem God loves us all and but sin puts up a barrier between us and God. so in the dream angels were traveling up and down the ladder very significant because when God initiated his plan jesus came from heaven done what was required of God to save mankind by dieing on the cross then later ascended to heaven. jesus is our link to God like in the dream the ladder was the link that ladder is an association with christ, the ladder is a symbol of jesus christ

Building a stairway to heaven is what every good God loving,moral person does in their everyday life by trying to follow the guidelines of say "The Ten Commandments" or whatever the guidelines of other religions are.
I dont think it is f****** stupid because it is only said in a spiritual sense.
