Whenever I see atheists post anything on the internet they just always seem so angsty. They can deny whatever they want but I think they are missing the point of religions. If they are right, why are they so miserable? Religions are more than just about God or "gods", they also give you a certain peace of mind. Whatever the religion is, they help bring a peace of mind and inner happiness. That's what I think is missing from them and why they are always so damn distraught.

Also, do not bring up islam or the "war on terror" or anything like that. Those are extremists and they are called that for a reason. They are an extreme case. Anything can be used for wrong even religion. But at the same time, the reverse is true as well.

Okay, I have another question: Why can't you live and let live? Seeing God written on a dollar PISSES YOU OFF? That's just like Christians who take thier religion too far and get angry when they see people believing in other religions or even accepting homosexuality. How are you any different? You are the very thing you are against. You arn't happy and content. You want everyone to believe what you do and it makes you mad that they don't. That's not inner peace or anything. That's just intolerance.

I only brought up homosexuality because that's what some of you mentioned. I rather not say what my opinons are in the matter because it's not relevant to this discussion. You say that how they don't accept that pisses you off yet you can't let live and let live and let them be whatever they want to be.

They are a very angry group of people. They have so much sin in their lives that they don't want the responsibility of being a christian,in other words they would have to change their whole lifestyle around and they dont want to do that. It's easier for them to say there is no God.I believe they are a very lazy bunch of people, with a lotta deeply inbedded problems, not saying that they dont do a lot of research to proof us wrong, because lord knows they do.Their laziness is in the fact they do not research salvation that takes to much effort for them. You know as well as I do it is very hardwork being a christian and christians are not lazy people. It is a very much easier lifestyle they have, and they envy us on our diligence of being good and faithful to our lord Jesus Christ.God Bless My Brother in Jesus

Part of the reason is because so many religious posts are extremely arrogant and totally offensive. Also, by judging all atheists by posts or responses to posts, is extremely narrow-minded as you clearly don't consider the other 99.99% of the time when we are exceptionally happy and content. How many atheists do you know personally and spend time with? You have no idea what we are like. Yet, the opposite is not true. Atheists are exposed to religion constantly - we can't get away from it - which makes me angsty and distraught. When was the last time an atheist knocked on your door at home wanting to discuss "the good word?" Do you see atheist comments on the dollar bill? Seeing the word god on money pisses me off.

Typical of religion, you just can't see the big picture. However, I'll bet all atheists have clear ideas of religion because we are exposed to it from very early childhood.

We're not angsty or distraught. Not having a reliigion actually offers even more of a peace of mind than having one. We feel like we are the only people knowing the true perspective on earth and the universe. It actually can make us better people making it seem life has much more to offer knowing that this is our only chance at it and to make the best of it. Also, we don't have to endure any of the pressure of trying our best to get into heaven or the fear of going to hell. Our beliefes are never going to be limited by what a false god or some bookthat tells people exactly what to believe. You could feel the same way too. Just try to do studies outside the bible, not having to go by the unreasonable explanations that made-up book provides.

I'm one of the most atheistic people you'll meet and I'm very happy. I couldn't really ask for more from this life, true the state of the world and society in general are pitiful at times and can be a little saddening and "peace of mind" religion can offer would be nice at times but I'd feel worse following something I thought was bull for peace of mind, and not being able to believe it would make it too empty to help. I like things with indisputable truth and facts, faith just doesn't work for me, at all, ever, that's me though.

Angsty? Isn't that a word for teens...? lol

Actually I don't feel the way you say we do, not in every day life at least. Here on this site on the other hand, with all the people who are always saying crap about non believers...after all that non believers have put up with for generations now...well yeah people may get an attitude here sometimes, can you really blame them after that?

It's just frustration. Some theists seem to be such bright, thoughtful, intellegent people, but then can't come up with a good reason to believe. You think, "surely, they can see how foolish their unfounded belief is".....but forget that they don't want to see it that way. Can't get a smoker to quit till they're ready and serious. Same goes for believers in god.

And I'm sure it's the same feeling you have when you try to explain to us that we should just believe because it's "true", or because "the bible says so", and we won't. It's not teenage angst. It's not that we miss the point. It's just that we're frustrated that you can't seem to even acknowledge that we MIGHT be right.

Fanatic or Fundamentalist? They both seem the same to me. Both begin by only wanting their own members to live by their rules, but given the opportunity for power they would both gleefully and enthusiastically impose their beliefs upon you. To me they're all just a bunch of Taliban.

It is said that 95% of humanity believe In GOD. I dispute this lie, but let's say it's true. This just means that only 5% of humanity is sane.

belief in GOD is for emotional invalids, intellectual morons, and the insane.

Most Athiests just keep their mouths shuts because bad things happen to them when they don't, as it is the Talibanites RAM their beliefs down our throats at EVERY turn. They do it on the money, they do it with oaths of office, they do it at sport events, on radio , on TV, in newspapers, magazines, they even do it door to freaking door. When you do hear from an Athiest it's because they've gotten $%^%^ tired of putting up with this prostilatization at every freakin turn they are understandably just a tad $#^#$@^ off.

You see what you want to see.

I don't see atheists as being angry, distraught, or "angsty", whatever that is.

Atheists tend not to take comfort or "peace of mind and inner happiness" in beliefs they see as childish, silly, and false. But that doesn't mean they don't have inner happiness. They obtan their happiness in trying to understand the world in more realistic and verifyable ways.

My guess is that you want atheists to be distraught as that would make your beliefs more meaningful to you.

Atheists are no more or less distraught than people who believe in something.

What makes you say we are miserable? I am quite content. I have a wonderful husband, a lovely daughter, two dogs, two cats, family, friends, a job, a good education, etc. I don't feel distraught. I simply don't believe in god(s).

Okay . . . you make a HUGE generalization by saying that atheists are "angsty and distraught." In the SAME MESSAGE, you then admonish anyone who might generalize by calling Muslims terrorists.

You just shot down your own premise.
