Atheism is not hatred. Just the opposite, it is a result of peace and love. As long as you do not insult me for not believing, I would not mind whatever you believe in. You can go to heaven or hell but you do not have to drag me along with you all the way. It's your choice.
Atheism only criticizes the parts of the religions that are causing hatred,, and it is our rights to do this as much as you have the right to believe.

No. I just feel sort of sorry for themmost of the xristians I have had the sad occasion of speaking with always seemed sad to me. I had this feeling that thier narrow minds never get a chance to blossom to sprout and enjoy life get naked and run in the rain on this earth . That which is the true garden of eden. IF there idea of heaven is what they truely believe , then I would just as soon not go there.Acording to them if man would not of sinned as adam and eve did. There would be no death. Can you imagine how crowded this planet would be by now. We are better off to study Nature and obide by Natures laws , or we will loose this garden in which we live. Some say that we are now destroying the earth. Fear not this planet will come back to life a few thousand years after we damage it eonough that it won't support life(us) but after we die off Earth will regroup give birth to a new life form. The only thing we will destroy is ourselve, and there will not be a god to correct the madness we inflict on this planet.. If you know anything about xristians and the history they have left behind it has always been to thwart science hold back progressive ideas stymie mans reach for the stars, stem cell research medical research of all kinds. Xristians don't like the idea of expanding mans mind and evolve with the new technoligy facing us. We either expand and improve or die off. We are not in the drak days of the past. If man didn't curtail the idiotic ho;d that religion once had on primitive humans none of would survived things like witch burning, the spanish inqusitions, The crusade of king Charlamne ( if you are not a xristian I'll cut your head off. Where do think beheading came from. If it wasn't for free thinking men and women we'd all be a foot shorter today. Yes it is sad ness and sorrow I feel for the xristians. Notr hate. Hate is a very consuming emotion . it only leads to what we still have today > The world is bueatful place full of things called the human race thier life is short but to the point. It's either learn to shoot straight or roll a joint, more than shooting at flying gees. It is your fellow man you KILL FOR PEACE !!!

As a secular humanist, I see religion has sort of a mind virus. It gets worse and worse in people until the point where we kill each other over our beliefs. A system of beliefs that is in no way based in actual physical evidence. That religion limits what you can accept and understand.

With the tools of Science, you begin to understand more about yourself than you ever could with religion. Science has the proof of our creation. Science can carry your self-consciousness to a higher level as a result. A fundimental shift must take place in our society if we are to survive.

We need to learn, not to fear science but embrace it. That science can show a Universe so much more grand than any religion could ever touch. I am humbled to know that at my most basic level, I am exactly the same as an oak tree. All life on our planet is connected.

Humans have evolved to become the caretakers of our planet. The only way to achieve world peace is not with religion but with a better acceptance of our true place in the Universe. All evils on our planet are by our own doing, not by some devil. We need to learn from our mistakes and our history.

I think anyone who believes in a God is probably a little delusional but it's character you judge some one on. If they're being blatantly ignorant and offensively forward about anything from your opinions on music to religion I'm gonna think lower of you having nothing to do with the fact that you're a Christian. And it counts if you just quote the Bible instead of coming up with an answer from your own mind unless it was about the Bible directly. Being a mindless follower isn't a good quality in any case, and religions in general seem to attract people who don't want to think on their own, but their are respectable intelligent people on both sides.

Why do you think Christians would be special for atheist? Don't you think the other religions would seem ludicrous to them too? An atheist in a Muslim country would spend more time arguing against Islam, in India it would be Hinduism. Obviously in America Christianity is the dominate religion, but atheist are pretty much don't believe the claims of any of the world's superstitions. They were ok for primitive man, but we've come a long way in our understanding of the universe from the days they used to sacrifice bloody animals to appease sky gods.

Not at all! I'm an atheist and my best friend is an Assemblies of God minister. We don't try to change each other, ever, and we get along really well - she is closer than a sister to me. My favorite cousin is also in the clergy. Again, we have so many other things to talk about that we don't need to argue religion - we are each secure and happy in our own beliefs.

Because some Christians can be arrogant, hateful, ignorant, annoying, and just plain stupid. and i think that the rest are naive.

The idea of faith just rubs me wrong. Most organized religions like Christianity rely on faith.

If you think about it from a completely logical standpoint than you will realize start asking questions like: Who created god? If god decides what is right and wrong than who told him? If god is perfect than why is the world so imperfect? Can perfection even exist? You will start to realize that there is no reason for a perfect omnipotent being to even exist.

Also if the atheist are wrong than we will all go to hell so we hope we are right.

I am not an athiest by any means, but I can answer this question from my point of veiw. Christians try to dominate, even though they claim only a select few will be going to heaven and those names are already in the "book". I do not like to be told or "judged". I feel that I have a right to my own beliefs, who knows, i could be right......

There will always be those worth disliking, though my two closest friends are both Catholic.

And if you want specific answers as to why some are worth disliking...then just look up what people have said on this site about their reasons and the things they are tired of. That way I don't have to repeat myself, again...it's wearing out the keys.

Not to all xians of course, but here is a response to the 1st 57 times this exact question was asked.

>>>>>>>>
Because many xians are trying everyday to have their agenda pushed down my throat. To ban abortion, morning-after pills, HPV vaccinations, gay rights, etc... So they have lost their immunity from criticism and ridicule (if they ever had one which the crusades and inquisition and even hanging of jesus n the cross would preclude).

And it p**** me off when they tell some woman in the pregnancy section who asks if abortion is an option that god gave her that baby. It ENRAGES me to read that shite. What about the women who can't get pregnant? What about those who need expensive and extensive medical intervention to get pregnant? That is highly insulting, condescending, and idiotic. So I vent my spleen at those xians, yes.
