What do you think about chat rooms? Are most guys how old they say they are or are they mostly older men looking for young girls? I really want to know what you think cause my friend met this guy on an internet chatroom and they've been talking for a long time but I'm not sure what to believe. He's sent pictures and stuff and they're getting to the point where they might meet sometime in the mere future but I am really worried about this. Tell me what you think.

no. not a smart idea. The world of chat rooms and instant messaging is a world where a person can say or be whoever they want. Nobody is exactly the same online as they are in person, and in reality MANY people are TOTALLY different people, and are scary. If she is really set on meeting this guy, DON'T LET HER DO IT ALONE. Insist on going with her. Make sure he's not some creepy guy that is way old and just wants sex or something. I'm not saying that you can't find good relationships online or in chat rooms, I'm just saying that you need to be CAUTIOUS. The fact that you are concerned, means you are a good friend. Keep on being that good friend, and I'm sure she'll keep out of trouble.

If she does meet anyone from the Internet, she should take a friend with her and not meet that person anywhere near her home or work place.

Chat rooms are a place for imaginary people with imaginary lives. Nope...not a trustworthy place to meet someone.

most guys are as old as they say but i would be worried too. im sure that there really isnt anything to be worried about but it's always safe to take precautions. i would tell your friend to bring someone with her if she ever went to meet him.
