The two are cutes
but i think that the basset is better than the beagle because is a dog that have a beautiful ears and is good friend wherever you go he will go, they are very nice and good dogs

I had a beagle for a short while. I'd grown up with a german shepherd. Beagles are very hyper dogs. The basset will be the more subdued of the two. It all depends on how much time and energy you're willing to spend on your pet. Beagles require alot...over and above the average dog.

If you want an escape artist that will always find a way out of your yard.....Beagle.
If you want a dog that is so stubburn that you may have to drag or carry it home when it decides it is done walking....Basset Hound
Plus Beagles are very difficult to housebreak.
And Basset Hounds are very likely to have problems with their ears.

many people think that the beagle is cuter...so they should right away choose that dog...but i think that the basset hound is a better choice...the beagle barks non stop...they are extreame hunting dogs so they will most likley chase everything that they see...and they are more hyper..so if u want a more layed back dog...id choose the basset hound

In my opinion, a basset. They are calm and cute. Also I have heard beagles have a tendency to run away. Plus beagles are so common, why not get a slighly more unusual breed?

We had a dog called Sally that was half basset, half beagle. Best of both worlds and she was a really nice dog

Beagles are great.
Bassets are just OK. They're sad looking and rather slow / lazy.
Both are hounds so they like to dig and make some noise.

Beagles are hard to train (including housetrain) and bark constantly. They are used mostly just for hunting rabbits.
I have owned many dogs, but you couldnt give me a beagle.
