It is normal for dogs to pant during the summer. This is how they cool their body. Just give him some water and he should be fine!

With their short, pushed in face, Pugs can have trouble breathing, especially if there is high heat and humidity. They must be kept cool and exercised with caution in the summer. Part of the short-faced or brachycephalic syndrome can involve having pinched nostrils and an elongated soft palate. Your vet will need to examine your Pug to see if the nostrils are too tight to let air flow freely. There is a surgery to correct this problem. If you notice your Pug snoring excessively or gasping to breathe, it could be that his soft palate (at the back of his mouth) is too long and is in the way. Again, there is a surgery to help correct this problem.

pugs have bad breathing because of their pushed in faces. I think it is normal for your dog to pant. You'll have to read a book about pugs or go on the akc (american kennel club) website to read about the breed to see if there are any things you can do to comfort your dog. But's it's normal and you shouldn't be alarmed.

That's what pugs do. Look at the structure of his head, how the nose is short and tight.
Note other breeds that have that type of skull where the nose looks like it's pushed back, they pant too. Bull dogs for example.

Dogs pant because that is their way of sweating. Put him in a cool room with some fresh water and let him relax and he will soon cool off. If it doesn't work and he seems worse or strange take him to the vet.

It's just because dogs cant sweat so they pant to regulate there body heat , the best thing that you can do for him is make sure he has plenty of water.

He is probably having a hard time breathing due to his pushed-in nose.
