my friend said if u try to swallow your tonuge u could die! is this true or he is just B.S.ing me?

if it goes back in your throat and blocks your air passage then you could suffocate yourself - but it's very unlikely that it would happen - your tongue wasn't made to be swallowed.

It's not likely that you will be able to do it. But, people who
have seizures have been known to "swallow" their tongues and
it blocks their airways and could cause death. That is why some
people suggest putting a tongue depressor in a person's mouth
when they are having a seizure to assure the airway doesn't get
blocked.

Basically, your friend is bs'ing you. Ask him if he can lick his
elbow.

People who have some types of seizures can "swallow" their tongues. But I don't know of a healthy sound minded person who can even try it.

It is true as the tongue will block your throat and thus, you will sufficate too as yr tongue is anchored at its base (throat) so that you cannot "swallow" it completely. However, who wants to swallow his/her tongue as we want to use it for a "French kiss"!!
