I don't know about you, but I don't hang out in the Science category trying to trainwreck their discussions. I find it interesting that there are so many "non beleivers" and doubters that troll through the religion & spirituality section looking for an opportunity to slam and argue with a believer.

And over and over again, well intentioned christians get into an argument with them.

They are here for a reason. I beleive that it is God's word coming true again. Showing that there will be people who attempt to shame you because of your beliefs. There will be people who consider you an outcast because of your beliefs.

In short, it is the work of someone with very cruel intentions who is trying to lay doubt in the mind of Christians.

Your thoughts?

My thought are that maybe you should look how many times this question has been asked. I can say for certain that I have been here a little over a month now and I have answered this question almost every night. This is the religion and spirituality site. It isn't the Christians only site. Everyone is allowed to go here and ask questions and answer them. If you don't like it then you don't have to come here. I am not a Christian and I am not an Atheist but I come here. I have a religion and just because you don't like my religion doesn't mean I can't come and answer questions nor ask them. I don't come here to put temptation in front of you nor try to convert you. I come here because I have questions that I would like answered and because I would like to help people also. I do know what I am talking about because I was at one time a Christian too. I have read the bible and have gone to many bible study groups. I even used to belong to a group that the people wanted to become ministers at one time. This is a place for everyone and everyone has a right to be here.

Not to be one of those people but everyone gets shamed for their beliefs so that's not a huge prophecy fulfillment or anything. And most people who do that to the good intentioned theists are just jerks and would do it no matter what. If I see something that says "Should I pray for the end of starvation or disease" I'm not gonna touch it because that's a good person. But if I see a question that asks an opinion or something that says "Is it stupid when atheists say..." blah blah blah then I'm gonna read it and tell the person he's being ignorant, not for a belief in God but for a bigoted view on anything without proper thought. I'm all for free belief but when I see some one who has obviously never bothered to think outside of how they were raised or what the Bible/church said then I would feel guilty if I didn't try to inspire them to use their brain a little more.

umm...there are also plenty of well-intentioned atheists here who are interested in having intelligent discourse on matters of religion. One reason that I'm here is because there are a lot people of all faiths (or lack thereof) who have a number of misconceptions about other worldviews, whether religious or otherwise. I've researched many different traditions with the simple goal of understanding what adherents of those traditions believe on their own terms. I feel that I can use that knowledge to help shed some light in the sea of misinformation that can frequent such discussions of religion.

we've defined this like a million situations already. this question is the n.a million maximum generally asked question of the finished type. we are right here because of the fact we ought to do what this internet site is for: Ask questions and supply solutions on subjects that ought to do with faith&spirituality. categories on YA at the instant are not divided by utilising what sort of human beings would desire to be in them, they're divided by utilising subject count number. An atheist can completely nicely provide an answer to a query approximately Christianity without believing in it basically as you delivers an answer to a query approximately Islam with no need to have faith in Islam.

Yes that is a good point that you have brought up. Even though I don't spend a whole lot of time in the religion section, I have noticed there are a lot of anti-religious posters on there. I think it can only be one of two things, they want to discourage people about their own religions to show them what they believe is not accurate, OR they really want to believe and they are looking for someone to come up with a reason or reasons to believe. I'm not sure why they do it but it seems to be that way in every kind of discussion, whether it involves religion, politics, sports or whatever.

They are here in the religion category answering questions because the word and definition of atheist directly relates to religion! Didn't think it took a rocket scientist to figure that one out. Plus we need to let you weirdos know your weird and are going to be very disappointed some day when you dirt it and realize your just DEAD!

The site is not only for Christians. It is called Religion and Spirituality not Christianity. Christianity is not the only religin in the world. Anyone can come here. Are you afraid fo atheists who come here because you are not secure in your own belief.

Another question...why do so many people ask this question?

Not all atheists are sciencey people and no matter if it's belief or non belief, it's still a big part of life and part of how people define who they are. Plus, it's not just your site.

I see Atheists as people searching, asking, learning. Aren't we all doing the same? Each person comes from their point in life. I don't accept the negativity or rudeness, but understand that they are trying to discover Truth as are all Christians, All people.

Why do Christians ask this question five hundred times per day?

Have you ever heard of theology? Academic interest in a subject is something you should consider getting into one of these days.
