No you don't need a passport;as the travel agent I used put it(using Florida because that's where I am)-it's like crossing from Florida into Georgia. In other words,you need a picture ID and that's it. Puerto Rico is a Commonwealth of the U.S. so only take a passport if you plan on going to any other islands from Puerto Rico. As far as expensive,it all depends on the hotel you stay at and any excursions/activities you do.

Passports will be required in January 2007.
You can have a decent vacation to Puert Rico for $1000 USD.

A passport is not necessary yet (as far as I know), but very recommended. It really depends on the way you buy a vacation package whether it will be expensive or cheap.

Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, no pasport needed..I took my birth certificate and picture I.D. (Drivers licence). Things were somewhat cheaper. Your travel agent can answer any questions you may have...Have a Great time..
