Why do you say Wicca or witchcraft is evil, and use the mistranslation of the line "Thou shall not suffer a suthsayer to live" which you read as "Thou shall not suffer a witch to live" as a means to demonize a religion which you do not understand. I am a former Christian and I personally know that not all Christians are like this but I have seen so many response that use this misunderstanding that it worries me. Did not Christ say "Do unto others as you would have done unto you"?

I am not judging anyone here for I know that I am not without my faults, and if I seem to be casting the first stone I appologize.

I will check any scripture mentioned by anyone and read it in it's entier context not just the line you post in response to my question. Some people are right I am no longer Christian because I was never at my heart Christian I would always judge others even though I have a physical handicap myself. I used to think like most of you think that magic was evil, but I do not believe that mainly becuase I do not force my will on others through the use of magic which is evil. So please lay off my moral character I beat myself up over it enough on my own I do not need help with that okay?

In defensive of all paths-

Jesus ate supper with non-believers & pagans. He even complimented a PAGAN for his RIGHETOUSNESS & FAITH.

NEWS FLASH: Yep a pagan can be RIGHTOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EVERYONE- READ IT YOURSELVES:(Matthew 8:10-12) (yeah, this is the RED lettered part)

Jesus Christ, having noted the faith and righteousness of a Roman centurion, a Pagan, proclaimed:

"Assuredly I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." (Matthew 8:10-12)

It is clear that heaven will contain many who are 'not' Christians, and hell will contain many who are!

Pagans worship the SAME God as you, no matter the name. Don't believe me.

READ IT YOURSELF:(Acts 17:22-23)

"Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, `Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, The One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you" (Acts 17:22-23)

Many bible scholars have noted that in the original Hebrew the word "M'khasephah' means- "someone who 'malevolently' uses spoken curses to 'hurt people'. This did not include people who were mystics & studied the magickal arts & natural phenomenon. The 3 Wise Men that came to visit Jesus were Astrologers & Mystics. (The Magi-Matt 2:1) And the Hebrew word 'Pharmakeia', is properly translated as the practice of malicious use of drugs as in poisons.

In our society, anyone who is using poisons or drugs to harm is anyone is a MURDERER, not neccessarily a MYSTIC or PRIEST/PRIESTESS OF THE CRAFT OF THE WISE.

I know LOTS of Christians that say HORRIBLE things about people. Curse them, cuss them out & turn to violence.

For a Christian to even speak illy of another person's choosen path or religion, if they start issuing out curses, threats or ill will, you too are a WITCH...........

Most Wiccans are magickal mystics and don't practice the harming of others by spoken curses or the use of poisons. It is against their creed of rules. Most are peaceful loving individuals.

First off, there is no such thing as "used to be" or a "former" Christian. If you say that, then you never truely were a Christian.
That said, practicing witchcraft in any form or fashion is evil. The "Do unto others as you would have done to you" has nothing to do with shunning that which is evil. As a Christian that is what we should do.
If you truely feel that Wicca or witchcraft is not evil, then please explain to all of us exactly what the roots of your beliefs are. Cause the understanding that I have of Wicca, is that some followers "worship" other followers and treat them as "gods" or "goddesses". That is evil.

We also say "Don't throw the gospel to the dogs."

Anything that does not belong to the light belongs to the darkness, and therefore demonized by definition, but I have never meet a "former Christian," who didn't have an ax to grind.

Relax, your misunderstandings and all your anxiety surrounding the mysteries of the faithful will be revealed to you during your final judgment. In the meanwhile, I wouldn't worry so much about what Christians think of you, because I know of none who are interested in persecuting you. You do have much to fear if you decide to practice your dark arts in other parts of the world where you may wind up on the tall end of a sharp stake.......Say for example....in one of those "Non-Christian countries." Good luck with your questions and I hope you get all the right answers.

Excellent job, pick a scripture and use it out of context. But you forgot to use "judge not" along with it. You don't have to be an extreme (not extream) Christian to recognize evil, and there are many scriptures that teach against the occult, not just the one you claim is mistranslated. Seek the truth, and it will make you free.

He also said stay away from anything evil. Witchcraft and Wicca use demonic and evil forces. Just because you used to be a Christian doesnt mean anything. You need to have a good understanding of the Bible, not just a couple verses. He says specifically in the Bible to stay away from witchcraft.

There is a spiritual world around us that co-exist with our physical world. There is power of Good and spiritual warriors of God (Angels) and there are Bad, Evil, warriors of Satan (Demons). Christians view Wicca or witchcraft as seeking to use the powers of Satan and worship the creation rather than the creator. It is not the power of Jehovah God that is used or called upon and to give honor or homage to anything other than God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is certainly not in the Will of God. This is why Christians, or many of them, condemn the practice of Witchcraft. There are only two powers in the spirit world and that is God's and Satan's power. A true and real Christian should have no doubt about the powers that exist as they can personally FEEL and experience the power of God by the Holy Spirit if they truly accept Christ and his sacrifice of His Blood and are saved. God tells his people and Jesus told his disciples and apostles that the Holy Spirit, God's Spirit would come and dwell inside our physical bodies along side and co-exist with our inner spirits and minister to us to show proof of our salvation. Proof because of a known change within the humans body in experiencing God's presence by his Holy Spirit. If a person has not experienced this then I would challenge whether or not their faith was genuine and real or did they convince themselves. I cannot conceive of anyone with this KNOWLEDGE and that experiences the presence of God and knowledge that God exist within their physical bodies as ever saying they were a former believer or Christian. It is impossible for me to believe and accept that anyone that actually experiences this and knows this to turn away and reject it. That's just my opinion. Maybe you should personally examine the power you are trying to use and get in touch with?

It's not evil. It's the practice of it that's against God. God gave humans free will and most witchcraft, used in white or black, goes against the free will of the person magick is being used on. I practised for around 40 yrs til I recently found myself in church. NO I'm not a hypocrite, I'm a convert LOL. I don't hate Witches, I can't, both my children are Witches as well as most of my family.
Christians think it's a devil thing, it's not, it's a free will thing.

For people to say: it's just evil, the bible says, or it's devil worship is wrong. They say this because they either are too afraid to find out the truth or just too damn lazy.

I don't know of a single Christian who wants to kill witches. And I know quite a few Christians. Simon the sorcerer was converted and that is what we seek to do. Now if we hated you we would not try so hard to get you to see our way of thinking and to become a christian. In your case become a Christian again. I look back on my life and see all the opportunities that I passed up to learn about Christ. I wish I had listened to the people who had reached out to me. I am now thankful that they tried. I try to do for others, what others tried to do for me.

Witchcraft and wicca is considered evil by Christians because the Bible teaches us that it is wrong. What makes it so wrong is that those in this 'religion' worship the creation rather than the Creator. We were created by God for God. Satan in his fallen state wants humanity to worship anything but God. When you learn to worship God, you are doing what you were created to do. When you turn from Him, you offend Him, who created you in His own image.
You may consider me an extreme Christian... but I have found peace, joy and all that I need in Him. You can too!

Why bother using Biblical staples against someone, if you do not profess to practice things of that nature?

Wicca is mainly looked down upon, because like astrology, it's an utter joke, and no amount of websites or books is going to change that. It's also entirely weak on the credibility side.

More or less it's seen as a trend religion, and when people use religion to entertain themselves, it would be considered sinful.
