My sister uses a product called Renu for her contact lenses. I have contacts but I don't need them very much and I only use them when I
have to sit in the back of the classroom in school. I use the same solution product. Yesterday my sister's friend was telling us that it was on the news and that the product has made some people blind and/or get a disease in their eye. Before we go to the eyedoctor I need to know this incase I need my contacts. Is this a myth or fact?

Yes, it is true. It's a potentially blinding fungus infection. The product has been recalled by the manufacturer. There are other products out there that are safe to continue using. This one in particular was specific to one site.
They're just playing it safe by issuing the recall.

It was only the Renu MOISTURELOC that caused the problem. Other renu products are fine.
