Max Lucado's He Chose The Nails. I found this book gave me a deeper appreciation for the Passion. I have always felt very emotional about that particular part of the Bible, but really did not ever fully understand the depth of though and compassion and love that encompassed all of the factors involved. It was an eye and heart opening book.

The Imitation of Christ, by Thomas A. Kempis

You will find greater peace even amid the turmoil around you. The book offers suggestions on following Christ our Model, Having a Humble Opinion of Oneself, on the Teaching of Truth.

Powerful book only second to the Holy Bible.

Tales of the Kingdom by David and Karen Mains;

The Story of the Other Wise Man

The Case for Christ, Lee Strobel

All three of these books lead me into a relationship either through fiction of allegory or sound doctrine----with the one I have chosen to follow throughout eternity. GREAT BOOKS ALL!

Joyce Meyers is a minister to living Everyday life to it's fullest. She has a web site @ www.joycemeyer.org
The book that I received most from was From Ashes to Beauty and Battlefield Of The Mind.
She quotes and gives bible references to the loss we all suffer in different areas of our lives and how to not only overcome these issues spiritually but how to apply them to our living today and over come in very real ways by living these principals. Joyce was molested and raped by her father in her childhood. She married and had an abusive husband. She was drinking and smoking and had some other negative life experiences even though she knew of the Lord. She and her first child were abandoned by her husband and she became divorced. She met her husband of now and went on to struggle to over come her areas of problems by studying God's Word. And she became a minister leading so many into better lives. Hope you will visit her site.

Crossing The Threshold Of Hope, by Pope John Paul II.

In this book, the late Holy Father answers questions which were supposed to have been given to him in an interview, which had later been cancelled. Nonetheless, Pope John Paul II found the questions so intriguing, he decided to answer them in book form.

What I got out of it, was his strong & unshakeable faith in Christ Our Lord. Reading that work, I could understand why he had been elected Pope back in 1978.

Another book I found inspirational was Confessions Of A Sinner, by St. Augustine. This was an autobiographal work, by a Church Father, who tells of his early years, leading a very unmoral life, & of his mother's unceasing hope that he would one day repent.

It taught be alot about faith, & humility. Faith from a mother's love for her son, & humility from a man coming to terms with the sins he had committed.

Unshakeable Foundations by Pete Bocchino and Norm Geisler.

It is an excellent presentation of the various world views, their characteristics, a scientific analysis of our reality and a comparative presentation of those conclusions against the various world views.

It is an excellent application of logic to several perceived science vs. christianity arguments that are not "vs." but science supporting christanity.

The first 4 chapters are an excellent primer on reational thought. You'll never read the paper/internet the same again.

Enjoy.

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is excellent. Great book, and it basically told me I need to keep my eyes open, follow God and all the signs He has left for me to see...but don't blindly follow humans. Think for myself. Know when I am being jerked around by people who are trying to manipulate me. Appreciate the beauty and goodness in the world - those sorts of things! Seriously, it's a great read.

Actually a book called "The Tao of Pooh"
the explains Taoism using the characters of Winnie the Pooh.

It helped me spiritually. Obviously not about Christian theology, but I was not reading it for that.

God Bless,
Vic

P.S. I did not like the sequels "Te of Piglet" and "Ching of Tigger"
