Honestly why do people think doctors lie? Doctors are there to help you and save your life. And people repay them by saying they think their doctor lie? what kind of bullshit is that? My dad, and two brothers are surgeons and my mom is a pediatrician. And they work their *** off EVERYDAY to save peoples lives. What is wrong with the society?

Our medical care system is at fault.
First in this litigious society, doctors very afraid to speak openly for fear of being held accountable for something. Patients sense that, and are left with a gut feeling that doctors aren't being completely honest with them. At the same time medical schools teach their students to practice with an air of infallibility. Patients are very aware that doctors are only human and can't know everything, so their seeming failure to admit this again fosters distrust.

Relax, Francis. I think people mean to say that doctors lie in general terms, not specifically your prestigious familial line of medical practioners per se. Some doctors DO Lie. Sometimes because it is kinder than the truth or sometimes because it is the easy way out. And sometimes because they state their belief in medications or practices because that is what they learned or have observed and that may be in opposition to what the other person learned or believes to be the truth.

Unfortunatly, the bad apples of the profession (particularly the ones that end up the news, Dateline, 20/20, etc.) make people paranoid. I have the same problem with our patients. I work for a dentist & it's just as bad.

1. Money.
2. They don't all know what they're doing
3. So many people were killed by a overdose due to an over prescription.
4. They take advantage of people who don't know certain things, including the fact, that there are foot specialists.
5. Some of them are frauds and/or quacks
Although, dentists aren't so bad. Abd Gracee us right.
