Flying is the safest way to travel. Are you going to let one alert scare you away? The perps were caught before they could execute their plan...and the Shoe Bomber was caught... When was the last time a plane crashed, or was blown up? It's extremely rare. You're in far more danger on the highway.

Why not? Terrorists don't have calenders at home that say:
August 14 - Jerry is flying to Chicago - Don't blow anything up
August 15 - Paul is flying to Portland - Don't blow anything up
August 16 - Heraldo Rivera is flying to Boston - WE MUST STOP HIM!!!

However if it was like that and Heraldo was on his private jet than that wouldn't be bad. JK
