Jesus is the fulfillment of the law and He is my peace and in Him I find my Sabbath rest 24/7.
I usually go to church on Monday. Sometimes Sunday, sometimes Saturday, occaisionally Thursday.

The bible says God rested on the 7th day( I am an atheist but christians have trouble remembering the bible, so here goes:). The days were named by men well after the garden of eden, and the beganning of creation.
In about the 1st century BC, the Romans also started using the seven-day week. The jews prior to that also had a 7 day calendar. I do not think the bible mentions the days of the week as they supposely were not named nor was there a 7 day week prior to the time Rome ruled. People see all kinds of things in their mind which is in the bible in their minds. Ex; the Russian bear theory in which the "end of worlders" claimed to have proof that It was written in the bible about Russian bear, and her time to end or occupy the world. There really is no reference to Russia in the bible either.

It doesn't say that. Some people say that the disciples repeatedly met on the first day. Well, that may be so, but my guess is that they met just about everyday. I believe that if God wanted it changed, Jesus would have told us. He was back on earth for awhile after His resurrection, so He had plenty of time to tell us.
That's one argument.
On the other hand, I can see that possibly the commandments were only given to the Israelites, and not to Gentiles. So that anyone coming into the faith didn't have to learn to obey the Jewish laws OR the commandments.....that appears to be what Paul is saying in Galatians. That we're saved by Grace, and the Holy Spirit will tell us what is right and wrong.
Both are valid points, and as you can see I've been battling within myself about this for awhile.

Does it really matter when people go to church? There are church services in some churches 7 days a week. If everyone took every word from the bible literally they would need massive doses of Prozac to live with the inconsistencies. The bible is meant more for guidelines of living rather than actual, literal law.

I doesn't say that. You got a point here. We'd be more honest if we admit that we decided to switch from Saturday to Sunday a few generation after Christ's dead. We cannot say that Sunday was instituted by God as a sort of God's day. So, we Christian should stop our Bible banging and sat down to read ii quietly.

The church I attend has services on both Saturdays and Sundays.
Personally, I tend to attend the Saturday services. But I have no problem with Christians attending on either Saturday or Sunday.
God is not a legalist... from what I see of the New Testament.
Cordially,
John

No one said that God "took away that day". The believers in the bible met "on the first day of the week". That was Sunday. Also, in the book of Romans, Paul says "one man values one day above another, another man does not". Honey...it's not about what day you go to church. It's about loving God with all your heart, knowing Jesus as your savior, and loving your neighbor as yourself.
That includes not getting into petty arguments about what day you go to church.

You are right. The Catholic Pope changed the day way back in the 1400's I think. The Jew worship on Saturday and so do seven day Adventists. Let use remember Christ was a Jew. I hope I helped.

Which day is the Sabbath? Is it Saturday? On which day should a Christian worship? I believe it is Sunday. The Saturday Sabbath was given to Israel. Ezekiel 20:12,20 states: I gave them [Israel] my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD and also hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you [Israel]. This was the first covenant to Israel.
Christians have a new covenant. Jesus made a surety of a better testament (Hebrews 7:22). He [Christ] is the mediator of a better covenant (Hebrews 8:6). He [Christ] is the mediator of the new testament [or new agreement] (Hebrews 9:15).
Because of His death and this new agreement, we are no longer under ceremonial laws involving days. Moral laws are in effect in believer's hearts, but not the ceremonial laws. Proof? God says in Colossians 2:14,16 that Christ [blotted] out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.... Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy- day, or of the new moon, or [Get it!] of the sabbath days.
We are not under the law, but under grace (Romans 6:14). God's moral law is written within and upon the hearts of believers, but ceremonial laws involving days have been nailed to the cross. We honor the Saviour of the new covenant on a new day -- the day of His resurrection, which is Sunday, the first day of the week. This we do out of love, not servitude, not through law, but through grace.

So, most people claim to be spiritual Israel when it suits them, but when it means changing their lives to follow Jesus, they won't do it.
We all know and believe that Satan has a way to identify his people, and we call it the "mark of the beast." Why do you refuse to consider that God has given a sign or mark to identify His people. The Bible says that He will command an angel to place that mark on the foreheads of his people.
"And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof." (Eze 9:4)
Wait a minute, that is only for those who will be in Jerusalem just before Jesus returns, right? Then the rest of us will just have to die on this earth. NO, that is for all of Gods people.
What is that mark? "Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it [is] a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that [ye] may know that I [am] the LORD that doth sanctify you." (Exo 31:13)
God gave the Sabbath as a sign that He created this world and a day for us to worship Him. He knew that man would think of reasons to change it, and that is why He began the fourth commandment with the word "remember."
Isaiah tells us that we will worship of God's sabbath; "And it shall come to pass, [that] from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD." (Isa 66:23) This verse if for those who will be in heaven with God agter He recreates the world.
Come on people, wake up. The words that are written are not that difficult to understand. Don't let a smooth talking preacher lie to you. He can give a lot of excuses of why you don't need to keep the sabbath, but none of them have a firm foundation in the scriptures. "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them." (Isa 8:20)
