Like it or not that is a symptom of alcoholism as the rest of us agree.
The thing we do not agree on is if alcoholism is deadly or not. The rest here say no, he cannot die.
The truth is that yes, one day off from alcohol can kill a person with these symptoms. That is in an extreme case, though.
Seek help, but from within, not from with-out.
People can die from a lot of things. Being without their vice is definitely one of those things. Alcohol is the prime example. People die from alcoholism every day.

My uncle checked his wife into rehab against her will a few weeks ago (he got a court order) she was drinking about a case a day or more, pooping all over the place, you just wouldn't believe what all took place. The doc at rehab said she'd have been dead within 48 hours. I believe this was from screwing her body up not eating and alcohol poisoning though.
She lied her way thru the program and they let her out and said nothing is wrong with her. She is back at it. The same doc that said she was near death let her out and believed every word she said. Goes to prove even when you get help.....sometimes the docs are inadequate

i have heard of people going into withdrawls and having seizures, but i really don't think that he will die, i drink hard liquor every day, at least 6 mixed drinks sometimes very strong, and have done this for about 16 years now. if i don't drink one day i still feel just fine. why didn't he drink? maybe he was feeling bad to begin with, could have a stomach thing.

Well, he probably won't die, but it is understandable that he feels ill. The effects he is going through are more of a withdrawal. You could even look at it though from the perspective that had you eaten certain foods for six years, and suddenly you tried something new and different, odds are in favor you would feel a few physical side effects in your digestion.

Most likely withdrawl. He might get the shakes as well. Eventually it will pass. He will not die, then how does someone over come alcoholism? You have to stop drinking it at some point, right?

Alcohol withdrawal can cause death. A close friend of mine died from it last fall. He should seek treatment from his doctor or some sort of rehab program.
