Is it possible to play a clarinet with braces?

Question

I just got braces a couple days ago, so I wouldn't know. I play the clarinet, and I would like to know if it's possible to play it with braces. I'm new @ braces, so take pitty on me! :-)

Absolutely!! The majority of clarinet players at my school have braces. It just takes some getting used to. A lot of them choose not to play after getting them tightened though. Good Luck

Yes. Let your band director know about your braces. My son played the trumpet with braces - they have a special device out there to keep the braces from digging into your lips. You shouldn't have any problem with a clarinet.

yes but it takes time to get used to it my friend has braces and she plays the clarinet too

Yes, of course... I am right now. I'm just as good as I was before. Takes a few times to get used to because the presure is greater and might be sore at first but it's easy to get used to.

You should be able to play just fine, once your mouth gets used to the new feeling. They will probably cutt your cheeks and lips some, but evently your mouth will toughen up to it. My advice wear a lot if wax in the beginning.

A friend of mine managed it back in school, so you'll probably be able to play also. It might take some getting used to, but it's possible.

when did u get them??????? they suck huh???? do they hurt?? i bet they will. don't eat anything that puts the littlest amount of pressure on them because it hurts like hell. rinse with warm saltwater 4 a few minutes. thats wat my dentist told me 2 do. what color did u get maura???? call mua
