my question was about the bible
and it asked how it was possible that people lived so long in the bible.
some of the first humans in the bible lived 100 or more years and i wanted to know how this was possible
when just 200 years ago 60 years would have been uncommon for a man to live that long.
i can only say that i offended the bible bashers with my question
and must have been reported.
this just shows how weak the story of the bible is.

Hmm, it must have offended a high volume of people. Did you use foul language? What was the wording? Here's Y!A's 26th FAQ:

When questions or answers are reported for abuse, are they automatically deleted?
No. Each abuse report is reviewed by a customer care agent, who determines the appropriate action. It is not possible to "attack" someone by repeatedly reporting them for abuse, because deletions are not automatic.

I don't know why they booted your question, but I can answer it. First, time in the bible is completely different. The Jewish calendar is a lunar one. This means that years are shorter than a solar calendar year.

An interesting fact is that the first people in the bible lived up to a 1000 years old. As the story of Noah got closer and closer, the life spans of the people got shorter and shorter. There are three working explanations for this. The first is that the years is not how old the people are but how many years the time is from the flood. Another is that G-d saw that people continued to sin more and more and decided to shorten their live spans because of it. The third is that the shortening of lifespans corrolates with the amount of responsibility man gets. It stops shortening with G-d's permission to eat meat after the flood.

Having not seen the question, I would be unable to provide you with an answer.
However, the only evidence of such long life is, of course, the Bible.. the very book you must not care much about.
I would guess that, back when men were living so much longer is because it was the will of God. I know that's not a very satisfying answer, and I'm sorry if it's unacceptable to you, but, that's where I have to stand.
I pray that you will realize that the Bible is the inspired word of God and return to faith and accept Jesus. If you have already done so, nothing can cause you to lose your salvation, if not, I pray you come around before it is eternally too late.
God bless and keep you.

what makes you think Christians reported this?

First, scholars and theorists believe that there was a ice sheet covering the earth. The Bible mentions no rain falling before the time of Noah. This is one reason why Noah was mocked for building an ark.
The ice sheet prevented ultraviolet rays from reaching the earth, protecting the inhabitants from the sum's harmful rays. It is believed that this sheet first produced the rain. When this protective sheet was gone, so did mankinds ability to live lenghty lives. Now the average is anywhere between 60 -80, depending on where you live.

Before Noah the life span for a man was up to 1000 years. After Noah his children the life span dropped to below 200 years King David time under 60 years why I don't know.

There is a body they found in the alps, called the Ice Man, a man of about 45 years old.
His wisdom teeth had not come in, in our time wisdom teeth coming in is a sign of becoming an adult. Was the 45 year old ICE MAN an child still?

I say that because in the time of Noah you were a child tell your 100th birth day.

To answer your question, during the time of the early Old Testament they did not use a solar calendar. Rather, they measured the passage of time in lunar and seasonal terms.

Even present day Jewish people still refer to a 19 year cycle lunar calendar for the distribution of their holy days within each year.

The men and women of the Old Testament did not live such long lives ... it's a matter of misinterpretation as to what a year constituted for them as well as distortion through centuries of oral tradition.

Actually Methuselah lived much longer than that, Sin is Death and in he Bible it says except their days be shortened they could not stand imagine every one that died in the last 500 years still living. We would need a New planet.

Sorry you got offending answers, the reason they lived so long in the old testament was to populate the world. Methuselah lived to be over 900 years old, you can read about that in Genesis chapter five.

After man had been fruitful and filled the earth to over-capacity, man's lifespan had to be shorter. Don't you think it is a little selfish to want to live forever? Personally, I think I need to move over and give some space to my grandchildren. In Biblical times the longer a man lived the more he had to leave his children, and his grandchildren. Now, the longer we live, the less we have to leave our children. I don't want my grandchildren to suffer because I want to hang around forever. And, there is a better place than this .

I didn't see it so I can't make a guess on why it was removed.

I think they typical christian answer to that question is that people back then weren't as full of sin as they are today and sin is what causes people to die faster (not sure how they use that one past referring to Adam and Eve)...but if that is what they typically use as an answer then I guess the world is becoming less sinful.
