See the reaction if you seemingly suffer a major financial set back. If the relationship cools quick, you can be fairly sure that those were dollar signs in her eyes.
Hopefully you're wrong about her...

Unfortunately there is no sure way of knowing the answer to this question without testing the potential mate. Thus, you have to have something that would negatively outweigh your feduciary worth and still have her remain loyal. For example, if you have a disgusting parent, sibling, or other close relative that has a filthy house, arrange a three-day visit there. The more repugnant the host, the better. After the stay, gauge her reactions. If she acts sweetly and says the person was "charming" rather than filthy and gross, run. If she says the person was disgusting and wants to break up with you, run. If she is honest and says that she was uncomfortable but realizes the person is important to you, there might be a shot. And then you don't want to subject her to that again.

A woman is a gold digger when she doesn't pay for anything in the relationship after you paid many times. She is a gold digger when she keeps asking you to buy her crap and doesn't do anything with you such as hugging and kissing. If she really loves you, she would not only let you know. When a woman loves you she doesn't ask you to buy a lot of stuff and is willing to do anything to make you happy and improve the relationship.

Just don't be too quick to spend money or if you do not too much. Never give her money in the beginning of your relationship and you will know whether or not she likes you. Presents don't need to be bought until you are together and there is reason. Doing too much can make an innocent person turn into a gold digger.

Buy her something really cheap like a fake (obviously cheap) pair of earrings, or other jewelry. When you give her the gift be sincere as if it really took thought and time picking it out. Pay close attention to her facial expression. If her smile seems genuine and she wears your gift immediately, she's not materialistic. She knows that you thought of her and the cost doesn't matter. On the other hand, if she opens the package and then rolls her eyes and tosses it aside, you have your answer.

Schedule a week's vacation, and on the last business day before it, tell her you were fired or your business went under. Spend the week looking downhearted, and check the newspaper daily for jobs (circle the low-paying, demeaning ones) and low-rent housing. If she's still with you at the end of the week, you'll know she's for real.

Herein lies the beauty of the Prenup. (I have no idea how advanced this relationship, if any, is)
Women just don't understand that signing a prenup is the ultimate romantic gesture for a woman to give a man.
Then again, I'm not rich, and if a wealthy girlfriend asked me to signa a prenup, I'd tell her to stick it up her ar$s.

lol interesting question!!! well, one way is that when u guys are at a fancy restaurant and the waiter comes with the check, see how she reacts!! If she doesnt make any effort to get her wallet or if she doesnt make any effort to stop u from paying, then she's probably a gold-digger!! u should probably do this a few times to make sure!!

Simple...
If she is an American or Western woman, she most likely is a gold-digger. That's why I only sportfuck American women while holding out for my future Russian bride.

tell her you're out of cash for a couple weeks.
you're on a very tight low budget, see how she reacts.
and i object the first answer, i have been with my boyfriend for over 3 years and he was in college, we both didn't work, and we both would even scrape change to get cigs. not all women are, you know. that's like me saying all men are shallow.
