his public defender is saying that he most likely get 9-16 months and he has already served 6 and has yet to be arraigned. he has no prior record and the robbery was unarmed. he supposedly got away with 7 grand. i was just wondering how realistic is it for him to get 9-16 months considering this crime? it seems like too much of a lenient sentence for a crime like this. please answer if u have knowledge of the law and please serious answers only!

Different states have different sentences for bank robbery...some have a mandatory minimum of five years...I don't know about PA> But, in fact he could realistically catch a year to a yr and a half. If so, he should get credit for time served ) in the county jail) and do the remainder . Remember, you said it was unarmed. (Also remember, if he implied a weapon, it elevates to armed...whether or not he had a weapon. ) His clean prior will work in his favor. Whatever you do, help him in his decision making.
