Sounds like a tom to me (an unneutered male). You can usually get a humane trap from animal control or a humane society, bait it and when you have it in the trap you take it in.

The poor guy will probably be euthanized and, unfortunately, he may have feline immuno deficiency or leukemia since he has been outside and probably fighting with other cats.

Even if he has an "owner" (an irresponsible one at that) you have the right to trap him and turn him in. Actually it's the owner who should be turned in and we live in a unfair world.

Get a catch it live trap (some animal shelters will lend this to you). Put some canned cat food inside the trap and then let the cat get caught (don't be surprised if you catch a lot of other animals also). Then call the pound and have the animal hauled away. We used to have so many stray cats around our house that I got my own catch it live trap and caught 25 cats and 18 raccoons. All hauled away by the local animal shelter.

Just use a spray bottle of water- you can purchase a spray bottle for a few dollars in the hair dept at the drug store. If you put the spray setting on "mist," you won't hurt the cat at all but it will hate the sound and the feel of the water and you can send out the spray before it gets close enough to hurt you. DO NOT put out radiator fluid/anti-freeze-- that will kill the cat, and any neighborhood pet who happens by If your cat is hassled when you are not around to spray or the cat continues to harrass you, then call animal control. Make sure your cat is up on rabies vaccine which I assume is up to date anyway if your cat is going outside.
Good luck!

If he's attacking you for no reason, he might have rabbies & you should call the humane society.

If you're squirting him with the hose, he's just trying to get back at you & you should still call the humane society.

No matter the reason, you should still call the humane society... for your own sake as well as others. I think it's a bit dangerous to leave loose an aggressive animal.

Contact your city's animal control. Maybe they can put one of those hav-a-heart traps to catch it.
You can get one of those yourself, but be sure to keep your cat inside. Check the trap frequently, as the animal caught in it will get heat stroke on a hot day trapped without water. Take the trapped cat to the humane society.

Okay, don't hurt the cat. Call animal control if you can get it contained to an area.

If you just want it to leave your yard, try sprinkling orange peel around in your grass, or the rind of any citrus fruit. Cats HATE citrus.

Everyone says call Animal Control; well; I wish everyone would be quiet about that; they will NOT help with the matter of strays; you basically have to round up the animal; and then they come to get it;

Please be careful about rabies; and stay away from it; it could hurt you and your cat.

Good luck.

Call Animal Control. It is an agency run by your local government. They will come pick it up. Look for the number in your local phone book.

There isn't much a lead supplement will not take care of. Seriously, where did the cat come from? Talk to them about controlling their kitty!
