It seems like i answer this question EVERY day.
Here's how the Ford vs Chevy "war" stands.
The Ford F-series truck has held the title as the best selling VEHICLE in the U.S for DECADES!

If you would like to know the truth about trucks:
http://www.fordvehicles.com/trucks/f150/truth

According to the most recent J.D. Power & Assoc study on dependability, which examined QUALITY of all vehicles
AFTER 3 YEARS on the road.; (this study lists all vehicle makes
not just trucks)

I will list makes & ranks (till I get tired of typing)
1-Lexus
2-Mercury
3-Buick
4-Cadillac
5-Toyota
6-Acura
7-Honda
8-Jaguar
9-BMW
10-Infinity
11-Lincoln
12-Ford
13-Oldsmobile
*note: Ford- Lincoln & Mercury all ABOVE the industry average

Those that fell BELOW the industry average are:
(in order)
chrysler
pontiac
suburu
gmc<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
mercedes-benz
chevrolet<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
nissan
mazda
porsch
hyandai
dodge
mitsubishi
jeep
volvo
audi
mini
iszuzu
saturn
volkswagon
hummer
kia
suzuki
saab
land rover

OK I'm tired of typing now.

PLEASE DONT SHOOT THE MESSENGER!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just quoting a 3YEAR study of vehicle owners & I'm sick of CHEVY people crying 'fix or repair daily'
when it couldn't be further from the TRUTH!!!!!

It would helpful to consider what criteria matter to you when you ask "better"?

Do you care about engine performance (torque & hp)?
Gas mileage?
Towing capacity?
Acceleration?
Top speed?
Gross weight & cargo capacity?
Off-road capability?
Interior design?
Passenger/creature comforts?
Color choices?
Purchase price?
Resale value?
Initial quality?
Long-term reliability?
Reputation of mfr and dealer to fix problems?
Warranty?
Styling?

Only you can answer those questions, and how much weight they carry for you - everything else written here is mostly an opinion.

Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota, Nissan, etc. - it's like debating who is better -- the Hatfields or the McCoys, Wyatt Earp or Bat Masterson.

But since you asked.... if it were my money, I would take a Dodge, then a GM product before I owned a Ford. I think Chrysler has far better engineering than the other two. Fortunately, I don't plan to buy a truck, so I don't need to make the decision.

Chevy all the way. We have a Chevy, and it runs better than any Ford we've seen. Plus you know what they say about Fords: Fix. Or. Repair. Daily.

I bought a used Dodge Ram and it has been a total nightmare. It was great for 3 months then everything started breaking. The most expensive was the blown gaskets which cost $1200. But since this was repaired, have not had any other problems.

Would I buy another Dodge? Hell no!

I'd go with a Toyota, Honda or Nissan trucks.

i personally think a ford is a better truck for work while chevy is more for daily leisure with a side-order of work.

Judging by your screen name, I'd say forget the truck and get a SUV.
Ford has not made a good SUV ever, but Chevy just keeps getting better and better. I drive a Jeep GC myself.
