Yes, in this day and age, the old fashioned traditions are getting put on the back burner. Its like the saying its better not to wear red or black to a wedding, yet i see gorgeous black or red bridesmaids dresses! Even people who are getting married for the first time can wear pink, look at Jordans dress!!!Ive had one wedding, but if I had another id still wear white or ivory!!!Its doing whatever makes you feel beautiful on the day. Good luck!!

actually the *tradition* of a white wedding is only fairly recent & a western culture thing. In China for example - red is the colour for weddings whilst white is the colour for mourning.
as it is your day & your partners- you wear whatever you feel comfortable with. Lots of brides choose other colours as white does not flatter them very much. Also there are many shades of white. I am a dressmaker & have made lots of wedding dresses over the years with 2 of my most memorable ones being a pale pink gown & a rich cream edged with burnt gold.
I tell all my brides that their gown must reflect their personality for them to be comfortable on what is one of the biggest days of their life.Even when my own daughter got married I told her the same thing. She got married on a beach & some of their guests turned up in board shorts & t shirts- which was exactly what my daughter & husband wanted - a relaxed ; casual day for all

Fairypelican is right: the "traditional" one-time wedding gown was actually introduced by Queen Victoria. Until then, brides wore the best gown they possessed, fabric being too expensive to waste on a dress that would never be worn again. Every country has its own book as to which color is "traditional". Early Roman brides wore blue, the color of innocence. In India, brides often choose red, the color of joy, white being a symbol of mourning there. In traditional Spain, brides wore their regional costume, the northwestern being heavily embroidered black velvet. In conclusion, you are the bride; wear whatever is pleasing to you!

it was considered a sign of purity and virginity in the "old" days to wear white... but considering that about 90% of the women today who walk up the aisle definitely are NOT virgins... i say to heck with tradition... you wear what you want... even if it means raising some eyebrows. it's your day, you should enjoy it. i personally don't believe in following tradition, i think you should cut your own path... that way you know you're doing what you want and what makes YOU happy! good luck, hope it all goes well!

Women who've been married before often wear white gowns. White was once the domain of the first-time bride;it signified purity, virginity. But,times have changed, and you're re-newing your vows. It's okay to wear white if you want to;best of luck.

You can get married in white no matter how many times you get married. Personally I think after the first time off-white or ivory is more appropriate.

Yes. White is traditional regardless of how many times you have been married. Unless you are unhappy with the marriage in which case you may want to consider black. j/k

Actually only virgins wear white. Nowadays, most brides are not virgins yet they wear white. So, what the hell, go ahead and wear white.
