If you are talking about temporary solution, it would be being drunk with a couple of friends (protect yourself during this vunerable period)
Long term solution, occupy yourself with lots of activities like hiking, outing, shopping, go and have a good body massage and stuff...It's the best time to improve your well-being now...gradually you will feel that being alone isn't a bad thing.

When it was me in that situatuon, I used to date other guys to try to make them jealous and then eventually forget about my ex and be with that guy. I eventually learned that it was alot more painful that way sometimes because I never learned how to heal on my own... I then began to heal with my friends and went out and stuff with them to malls or just to have fun at an amusement park and i learned how to get over things like that... I then met this wonderful guy I had dated in 9th grade but i dumped for no reason and we went out again... i never gave him a real chance and i should've stayed with him because I would've never had to of went through those jerks in the first place... now we're still together after getting back to gether in 11th garde.. and now we're offf to college but staying together... it's been a year and months but it's great feeling!! I know it'll be hard at first to get over but soon you'll feel happy and happy to be single and then soon you never know but the one could be around the corner... just focus on you for that time and do something for yourself and with friends that helped me alot....

Time is the best solution. Get out, volunteer somewhere. Good Luck.

well, everyone else is right...the answer is TIME...do whatever you can to get your mind off of that person(hanging with friends, hobby, etc.)...don't listen to sad songs...if you were really in love, than it may take a LONG time...i know that's not what you want to hear, but it's true...i was in the same situation, and it took me forever to get over it...then one day i told myself get over it, it's her loss not mine...that was it!!!...one day was all it took!!!
