I am having a hard time comming up with a name for our homeschool. This is my first year. Our last name is Stalder, but don't want to use Stalder Home School, because that is what my mother-in-law used when she homeschooled my husband. Anybody with ideas please help!

We used something that we all really enjoyed and had a special name for it, our is Circle Time. That is what we called when we all got together at the table or watched a movie together, so it fit that is should just be our homeschooling name. Now we call eating together and movie time, just plain old family time, so the kids dont get confused...lol.

Our homeschool is termed Owls Nest Academy. It took us some time to discover the perfect call for our homeschool, and that i propose you're taking time besides. you'll comprehend once you discover the perfect one. We chosen Owls Nest Academy because we like owls, a nest is a house, and an academy is an area of studying. you ought to arise with a similar call making use of Horse or Equine and good, etc. you may also contain your relations call, your geographic area, etc. you've a double entendre having to do with horse education and the 'education' you receive on your practise. shop a scrap of paper and jot down some thing that consists of ideas and ultimately you'll discover the perfect call!

I'm curious - why do you need a name for your school? We've been homeschooling 13.5 years and never had a name. Is it required in your state, or just something fun like naming a car?

Ours was named after our farm. Our friends used their favorite Bible verse reference. Some other friends used their first initials combined into a word. Get creative! Have Fun!

Some ideas

* Memorialize a family member or hero (JFK Memorial School)
* Proclaim your philosophy or religion (Our Faith Free School)
* Use your own last name (Gibson School)
* Your street name (Ironman Road Academy)
* Something in your environment (Oak Hill School)
* Include town name (Smalltown Independent Study Program)

I really like this one: Knowledge House.
