Sounds like air blend door cable if manual or servo motor auto air is not allowing the heat cool air door not to move to closed no heat posistion. The only way you will know which is to have someone operate the regristers def. face, floor ect. that is not the one and move on to blue to red slider or blue to red twist knob and watch each side of the heater case for movement of levers servos and cables. Electric Servos you can feel them working. Something could have fallen down the defroster vent by the windshield and is holding a door open.

You have your connections wrong. You have a vacuum controlled switching valve that goes to A/C and to heater.
When you select your A/C, it is supposed to bypass the heater and run cold air. You have the connections hooked up wrong and when you select A/C, you are activating the heater.

Follow your connections, and reconnect. When you replaced your heater core, this is when you got the connections crossed.

Easy One,
