to tell you the truth i have actually been in the market for a paint job as well. i have gotten offers from 1000-10000. the most important thing when painting your car black is that the body must be completely straight. because with black, it will show any minor imperfections. to get to the point it will probably cost you about $2,000-$3,000 for a good paint job(that includes body work) it might even be less if there isnt too much wrong with the body. BUT WHATEVER YOU DO...NO MAACO! If your gonna go w/ maaco, you might as well paint it yourself with a can of paint.

OK I am going to fess up. I have had a few cars painted at Maaco. The price was right and the car looked 100% better than when I took it in. Look for a special. Then when you pick it up, run your hand over the surface if it is rough that is not a problem just tell the manager it has overspray on it and you want it buffed out. Check to make sure they painted the whole car. opened the trunk etc. not a real issue unless you have the color changed.

a good complete color change means they will do the jams as well from 400 to 1,200 depends where you go and if need any body work or not remember black shows all flaws so you may half to have do a good line block on the car the low end paint job is without color sanding and with color sanding will be higher but the car will look like liquid plastic a real nice deep shine no swirls, but if you have the money get the deluxe stage two type paint and man o man it will be a head turner, also depends what type of paint who will be painting it and what shape the vehicle s in before the paint job, i used to do custom paint and body work years ago and i did all my vehicle in black with the right wheels you will have a real looker(head turner) good luck

you cannot answer this question correctly without first knowing where you are in the world... and we would also need to know what quality you want... $105 worth of rattlecan paint will cover that car but look like ****, $50,000.00 would get your body fixed(wether you see it or not your 2000 wont have a perfect body) good paint good clearcoat and nice airbrush graphics or nice pinstriping... so there you go
