Go to a shelter the dogs aren't free there is usually like $80 adoption fee but that covers whatever shots they need, first check up, registration, and neuter/spay. You can usually find pure bred dogs at the shelter too. But remember dogs, even if you get them for free are expensive and alot of work. Food, heartworm meds, flea protection, toys, treats and yearly medical care really adds up. Make sure you have the money to take care of one before you adopt.

there are many dogs in Houston remember Katrina and Rita? none are free unless you find a stray on the street, and then you would have vet bills. so no dog is free.
