The best thing to do is to be honest. I believe the worst thing you can do is lead someone on. Just be honest yet nice and tell them how you feel.

I had this happen with a guy I considered like a brother to me. I kind of ignored him for awhile...kind of hard since he was staying with me at the time ...but sleeping on the couch. Besides he had a gf even if she did live far away and they hardly saw each other. Well anyways he understood I didn't see us as more than friends and we got back to just being good friends. Haven't seen him in 4 years but we keep in touch via e-mail. He has a new gf and is very happy. They live together and are doing great!!

Love is the admiration felt for a person who arouses Delight, Sympatetic Intrest, Ilicit Tenderness, or Benevolence.
All I am saying is this: Dont fall in love out of sympathy.

Hmm... tough one. I would just tell them that you don't have those feelings for them, but if you just don't like them as a dating partner, but could as a friend, tell them that.

I'd say, I'm sorry, but I don't have those kind of feelings for you.
