Take your clothes off and leave them....if you get caught, roll into a ball and try to stay as still as possible. My dad use to do pack trips in the mountains of Colorado and they would have a bear come after them once in a while. The bears would stop to sniff the clothes...seriously, a naked man running through the woods is hopefully running from a bear!

Apparently there's a very good grizzly bear spray! Go ahead and read about it. It also offers tips of what to do in a general attack as well when you don't have a spray. Playing dead seems to be the preferred method. Looking big WILL GET YOU ATTACKED. If it's a mother protecting her cubs, you're going to die if you try to make yourself out to be an aggressive, large predator. She'll do anything to protect them.

In the movie Grizzly Man he said to confront them and look as big as possible. Of course he gets eaten at the end of the movie, but he lived around them for 12-13 summers before he got eaten.

F*ck the beast!!! If he wants to kill me I'll do anything I can to get in the best licks I can before I get eaten. The only time grizzly's attack is when they are hungry, so I know that would be it. I'd kick the bast*rd, punch it in the nose, Hell I know I'd be gone anyway so I grab his tongue and rip it out. Anything I could do.

Drop to the ground, and curl into a ball. You will get mauled, but you MIGHT survive. You can't outrun, or outfight a grizzly. My last worry would be the bear's health. I camp around bears, but not grizzlies, just black bears.

Play dead and make sure to curl up in as tight a position as possible. Make sure you cover your face and neck , then pray like you never done before . I don't think playing dead would be much of a problem . It wouln't be acting.

I've always heard to stretch your arms and make yourself look as big as possible. Grizzlies can outrun a man and are very good tree climbers, so it does no good to run, etc.
