There is a new religion in this world. It is followed by the masses. They worship their god four times a day: 6am, 12pm, 6pm and 11 pm. This act of worship is so powerful that is sends its followers into a deep hallucination and hypnotic state. A group orgy...too powerful to break out of. The followers have strong faith in their entitiy and whatever he says. It is a forbidden and a great sin to doubt its religious texts and images. Their god allows them to experience anything physically inaccessible but only from this god's perspective.
We have ALL converted to this religion. Didn't you know? It is what we blindly believe. It is the religion of the Television Media, my brothers and sisters.
Congratulations and Welcome to your new faith!

Yes. I agree. That's why I don't watch it. Too many blipverts anyway, they hurt my eyes.
Have you noticed, if someone says "I don't have TV" people look at them like they are ill...?
How does that song go again..."TV, the drug of the nation, breeding ignorance and radiation, Television..."

I guess i am supposed to only allow the church to think for me. If exposed to mindless entertainment I might waste some time that I should be using to thank and worship.
Now the Internet also? Gosh darn that rascally debil, he be tryin' ta fool me again! I'm logging off and taking some cash down to Church right now!

I dont know about that... I stopped watching television for about 4 or 5 years, because I didnt see anything on that interest me, and then it became a thing where I "didnt" want to watch it, because I just didnt want to waste my time, instead I spent it on the internet :)
Now, being retired, I watch a lot of TV, but, as you say, the news is what is interesting, because people are dying, and you want to see if its coming to "your house" soon!
I wish you well..
Jesse

Well, depends on where you watch tv
If you live in the U.S. it probably is an organized religion, if you're in Canada and you have to endure some of the propoganda of U.S. television, probably not because you laugh at the Americans stupidity...

Jesus told them, "Don't let anyone mislead you. For many will come in my name, saying, `I am the Messiah.' They will lead many astray. And wars will break out near and far, but don't panic. Yes, these things must come, but the end won't follow immediately. The nations and kingdoms will proclaim war against each other, and there will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this will be only the beginning of the horrors to come.

LOL, not at our house.
At our house, the "god" brings us cartoons and movies...it keeps the kids happy, entertained, and sometimes, it even lets them learn a little something.
We don't call it a "god" though, because we don't let it control us. We control it. We turn it on when we wish to be entertained, and we turn it off when we are finished with it. We certainly have learned not to trust the "news".
But I do thank you for your deep concern for me and my family. Keep on spreading the good...uh..."news".........

That's funny!!! After growing up in television (literally!) I rarely watch it. I prefer to spend my time in the gym or reading a book.
