Do you have any idea how many times that same question has been asked on Yahoo! Answers? Search on "chicken or egg". The list is nearly endless.

Small piece of advice, since you seem fairly new to this forum. Before you ask a question, do a search and see if the answer is already out there. Or in this case, if the question isn't as clever as you think.

Here's a possible answer:

The Chicken and Egg question is an issue which seems to be unsolvable, using society's present belief system. However, the concept of Simultaneous Time answers, explains, and negates the entire idea of anything coming first.

They exist together. One can not exist without the other -- when the egg came into being, so did the chicken.

Well, Studies have shown that life started with a single cell organism. This was figured by the adaptation that they grew to multiple cells which were mammals. So the correct answer would be "The chicken came before the egg. The truth lies within the following equation. If you can figure this out then we shall all know. How many sea shells she sells down by the seashore x how many pickles peter piper really picked. lol

The slow evolution of bird species made the chicken.When the first two birds mated that formed the chicken as we know it today they laid eggs.Inside the first egg to hatch was the first modern chicken so therefore the egg containing the first chicken came first.

it's been scientifically proven in the last couple of months that the chicken came first because of evolution. something else layed the egg, and the animal inside the egg evolved in to today's chicken
