There's no such thing as a secular humanist church. The concept is self-negating.

If you're just looking for groups of humanists, check out the American Humanist Association (link below). I don't know if you're into literature or not, but Kurt Vonnegut is the current honorary president. He took over the role when Issac Asimov died.

You consider us lame, huh??? Well let me tell you something the Unitarian Universalists are anything but lame. We're more socially concious than any Chruch you can find...We also have great RE programs for the younger set that are SECULAR and allow them to grow and develop their own Spiritual belief system...That's lame to you? There is no Secular Humanist Chruch I am aware of, try the American Humanist Association...google it. PEACE!

Since secular means outside of the church, a secular humanist church would be a contradiction. Why would people gather to worship nothing?

My answer is more of a question, why bother with a church - which is a called out group of people who believe in Jesus Christ as the only begotten son of God - if you want them to be secular and humanist - Christ has called us to be set apart from the world - and that would not set us apart, but just make us part of it?

secular: relating to worldly things as distinguished from things relating to church and religion

humanist: non-theistic; man is capable of self-fulfillment

church: a building set apart or consecrated for public worship, esp. one for Christian worship - an ecclesiastical approach versus a secular approach

So, I find a "secular humanist church" to be an oxymoron.

I would say, even though they are not heaven bound, Unitarians are probably as close as you are going to get.

someway, we'd desire to continuously have prevalent the Charismatic pass could be at the back of some thing like that. there's a spirit working in those Pentecostals, o.k....yet there isn't something holy approximately it. God has not something to do with any witchunts in Nigeria or everywhere else. Jesus taught that the dominion of Heaven belonged to the little teenagers. some "Christian wanna-bees" seem to have forgotten that lesson.
