Christians, please don't take this wrong, because I truly want to see you succeed and I'm hoping that it will cause you to think.

The way I see it is that the modern day Evangelical Christian church is similar to a band of musicians who claim to be the best band on the planet, and that they will ultimately win the battle of the bands. But when you show up their concert, they never play music because they are too busy talking.

As I understand the question, you are asking what I think of your comparison of the Evangelical Christian church to a rock band. Both claim to be the best at what they are supposed to do, but when you show up, neither is doing what they claim to be best at. I think your comparison is very astute, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees it.

From the my POV, the Evangelical Church is the Christian equivalent of the Islamic Jihadists.

If I understood that I would respond.

But I don't, so I won't.

I'm not an Evangelical Christian anyway. I don't let specific churches brainwash me into believing they are the best. I have built my relationship with God based on what He wanted me to believe in, not some overconfident pastor.

God bless!

No, that is not the case at all. The fans claim they are the best band, and when the fans finally get to the concert, they sing louder than the band and no one can hear the real songs.

Many people call themselves Christians but truly they do not know Christ. Those who are believers are at many different levels of maturity. You should never judge a group by just a few of its members. I know some wonderful people who walk with Christ and if you could meet them, you would change your question.
I am sorry you have had negative experiences with believers. Keep looking and ask God to bring some of His children across your path who will represent Him well. He will do it!

Come to my Salvation Army church and spend a day in the food bank with my family and I. We don't have time for sing along, we're too busy bagging food for the needy and hosting programs for less fortunate children.

I am a christian but I do not attend a church because of the politics. God is in me I dont need a church to have a relationship with him.

certainly all talk and no action would not be useful.. but if you look further, the evangelicals do alot of missionary work, alot af charity, alot of public service... they do not just sti home and do nothing but talk. The money that is spent on charity comes right from thier own pockets, not from taxing people for government programs..
