What is the difference between aminoacid and acid alpha-keto?

I am an MD. I believe you are referring to the keto analog of amino acids. There are generally 21 or so amino acids that all of life's proteins are made of. It is possible to chemically create the so called keto analog of each of these amino acids where the nitrogen group is replaced by a ketone group.
