My bedroom has two sliding doors to the patio for which I already have gorgeous silk draperies. I added two windows and don't want to go to the expense of getting silk draperies for two small windows. Besides, I think it would be too much fabric. Has anyone seen two different types of window treatments in one room?

Usually windows need to be "dressed" alike, but I think it your case keeping the sliding doors different from the other two windows, is fine. Be sure that what you use on the other windows has the same feel as the sliding doors. For example, try to find something in the same tone and texture.

I don't have any window treatments in my room so I don't think that two different types would be a problem as long as they compliment each other. If the fabric is inexpensive I think I would go with the same length as the doors.

As long as they go together,not necessarily match but go together, I like it better.
If your silk drapes are a solid color, you could do floral or striped roman shades, picking up on the color of the silk.If the silk is floral or stripe ,use a solid color shade.
If privacy is an issue I would go with blinds.You can let in light without giving up your privacy.They come in so many colors today.Those I would match to the wall color so they don't really stand out.

As long you match things up it will look great . I did it in my house and I was suprised how good it looks .
