Honestly, America as a country has earned the right to be arrogant. More has been accomplished by this country (USA) in it's short time of existence than any other nation on the planet in a similar time span.
The USA is currently the worlds leading country in Economic, Cultural (yes, I said cultural, elements of US culture are in every country, the movies, the music, the products) and Military influence. Immigrants from every country in the world vie for the opportunity to live here. It is a vast land where anything is possible and if you take advantage of all that is offered, you can become successful.
All of that was achieved in 240+ years, not bad.

No, Americans are not arrogant, just hard to understand!
Just because a person says they are a US citizen does not automatically make that person an American.
Many who are not from America have the presumption that the US and America are one in the same. United States is one thing and America is another, they are not the same.
American, is a way of life, not a place on a map, such as the United States

There are arrogant people in all cultures. Most Americans are not arrogant. Most Americans are extremely nice people. Sorry you have found some arrogant postings here.

Yes, we are all arrogant. At least that's what we're always told by enlightened, non-arrogant people from other wonderful places. It must be true. Oh Lord why did you smite me?
Why are the French all smelly cheese eating surrender monkeys? Why are brits all gay with bad teeth and ugly women? Why are the spaniards all smelly and hairy? Why are Germans so stuck up and bossy? Why are the Irish so stupid and ready to fight over nothing? Why do Norwiegans and Swedes all drink so much and have little wee-wee's? Why do Puerto Ricans steal hub caps? Why are Americans so arrogant????

why would you bunch all Americans under this ugly word? Because a person has an opinion he is arrogant? my opinion, I feel that most conservatives are arrogant (meaning most republicans)...but that is just my opinion. there are people of differing views in America as in EVERY country in the world. so don't just jump to conclusions and bunch us all into the same boat...

Presumably, you have never been to the US, with a few notable exceptions I found them to be the most helpful and friendly people I have come across in my travels. Go there and revise your opinion.
