I believe in a single all-powerful all-knowing God.
I believe that there is no one true religion, there are many paths to divine glory.
I believe in the Golden Rule.
I believe that God favors tolerance and love over hatred and closed-mindedness.
I do not believe that Jesus was God or the Son of God (any more than all of us are the children of God). I believe that he was a prophet, just as Moses, Abraham and Mohammad were.
I do not believe that our religious texts (bible, torah, q'oran, etc...) are written by God. I believe they are important philosophical and ethical guides that were written by man, but inspired by God.
I do not believe that homosexuals are evil or are hated by God. They are God's children just like the rest of us.
I do not believe that abortion is evil if done for the right reasons (life of mother, rape, etc...).
I believe that religion is a personal choice, and should not infringe upon personal rights.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I am comfortable with my beliefs, and I've spent a long time coming to them. I'd much rather form my own beliefs based off of research, deep soul searching and communing with God that being told what to believe by some pre-packaged religion.
The main reason I am looking for a faith to become involved in is mostly for the fellowship. Just because people belong to the same faith doesn't mean they have to have exactly the same beliefs on everything.
To those who are honestly giving answers to help and support, thank you.
To the close-minded prosthelyzers, I feel sorry for you. With blind faith and closed eyes like yours, you will never truly know God.

Being non-denominational is also a choice you may seek out.
You can believe in a higher power and practice your faith as you see fit. It's all in how you perceive your relationship with God.
To some, like myself, going to church is a simple as a picnic at my favorite spot and thanking the Lord for my health and the wisdom to enjoy the gifts of nature He provided for us.
As far as any written text. It all has been written by man. Influenced by a certain religions, be it Christian, Muslim, Buddhism or any number of secular religions. All of it based on one or several mens visions or beliefs. Which for the most part has driven most of the world's wars for generations. Because we as a whole can't seem to agree to disagree at any time. Mainly because people invoke "God's Will" as a reason to continue with a group's belief no matter the consequences. Personally, I don't think the current middle east crisis has a whole lot to deal with religion as much as it has to do with politics with a facade of religious implications. But that's my two cent's about it and God gave me the mind and the wisdom to see this and state it.
This is where God gave us the choice. To take a leap of faith requires faith in ones self, not a leap based on a certain groups principles. It's all comes down to our own personal comfortable relationship with a higher power.
Based on what your question included. I think you have a better understanding of this than you know or will allow yourself to believe. Just trust in yourself and let God guide you in times of need. He gave us a mind and soul for a reason.
Good luck on your life's journey and God Bless!

I see a lot of parallels with Islam. We beleive that God sent a prophet to every society on earth. For this reason we are to be open-minded about other faiths because their prophet could have been sent by God, and preached the same message. The word Islam literally means "submission to the will of God, through peace," so therefore it is more a lifestyle really than a religion. In fact the Qur'an says that there is no religion except to submit to God's will. This is one of the reasons I chose it.
We also do not believe that Jesus or any other person is God in human form.
So long as you are faithful to God, and continue seeking him through logic, reasoning, open-mindedness...then God will know your heart. Read as many different types of scripture as you can (look for good translations).
God bless you!

If you believe in God, then you'll have to accept the fact that the reason there are so many different religions is because people don't want to follow everything that God "inspired" to be written. It's easier for humans to interpret things their way, or get a different religion than to change themselves to what they know they should do.
It doesn't really matter as long as you are seeking the truth, all paths lead to the same finish line

Congratulations Mister!
You are 99% spot on in your beliefs. You do not need to join anything (you are already/always been part of everything)!
Churches and religions ultimately fall short of the mark every time.
You do need any direction, just continue on your path. You obviously have the brains and soul to boldly venture down your own path (you know where you are and where you are going). Only the lost, the joiners, the followers and the weak need to be affiliated with an organization to feel accepted.
I respect and admire you. Thank you for "getting it"
(Love and Light).
Keep up the good work! Lead by example! Let your actions and deed speak for who you are and what you know and believe!
Cheers!

I wish you the best in this, but I can't help you. I do believe that Jesus was the son of God, and that the Bible is the inspired word of God. If Jesus was only a prophet, then the basis of the whole Christian faith is thrown off-kilter. If there is no one true religion, why does the Bible call Jesus " The way, the light and the truth," and say that "none shall come to heaven except through me"? If Jesus is not God's son, then the Bible is a farce, and unreliable. If the Bible is false, then it is not an important philosophical book at all, only trash. The major difference between Christianity and Hinduism, Buddhism, etc, is that Chritians believe in a living God. There is just too much to go into this on here.......
Best of luck no matter what you find.

Sounds like your beliefs are very similar to mine. I also went through a period where I wanted to belong to a religion - to "fit in", I guess. But I never found one. What I found were people trying to impose their beliefs on me - to change me, to convert me, to save me. I don't believe in any of those things. I believe in tolerance, love, and finding your own special relationship with your God. There are so many things about organized religion that I just do not agree with that I decided it's best to just live my life and follow my own spiritual path. It's OK not to fit into a cookie cutter religion.
Now when people ask what religion I am I just answer, "I'm spiritual, not religious." That's not good enough for many, but it's good enough for me and that's really all that matters.
Good luck in your search.

What is it that you are hoping to get from a religion? You do sound like you are closest to being a Unitarian, and if you're looking for a social experience that might be a good choice. If not, then wouldn't you do best to practice your beliefs privately?

Unitarian Universalism maybe. It seems like a lot of the answers you have received are from people that are trying to convert you to their religion or way of thinking. It's obvious that you're not a Christian or atheist, I don't know why people are saying that.

Sounds like you have many correct beliefs, very similar to mine, though I don't think they point to any one religion.
You could look around for a spiritualist church...They believe in God, spiritual advancement, and accepting new visions, prophecies and teachings that vary from the old way of thinking. I personally believe that Jesus meant to be our communication to the father, that you can pray to him and he will take it up for you :) Not that he is actually God, but our messenger.
You seem to have great insight and logic. Congratulations on not following blindly. I believe God is non-denominational
I suggest meditation as your way of worshipping and coming closer to God.
