My cat just died a few days ago, and my husband and I are heartbroken. to ease the pain a little and help heal the wound we decided to foster a kitten until it finds a home. I feel mixed feelings towards this new cat, and feel like I have betrayed the one that is deceased. What would be a good way to memorialize her, and give her the respect she deserves?

My son lost a dog that he only had for a year. Puddin was very old when he got her, and in the end, couldn't even walk any more. I took all of the pictures that I could find, and put them on a cd for him. I also typed up a little story about her, and used her viewpoint on her life.
Your cat would want you to love another cat. Every time you look at the kitten, you would remember your old cat.
When you are just waking up or just going to sleep, your cat will come to you and let you know that everything is ok. Who knows, maybe your old cat can somehow communicate with the kitten.
A kitten will help ease the pain that you are feeling right now.

On E-bay, they do sell head stones for pets. By putting one on the grave, this might give you closure.

Did you get the cat cremated? What I did is I have my cat's ashes in an urn with a photo beside the urn. I also have a little box where I keep the collar, anything that reminds me of my cat. You can also have some dried flowers or fake flowers near the urn.

I'm sorry about your loss. Oh, and don't feel bad about fostering the kitten. You're doing the right thing and I'm sure your cat would have been fine with it.

Ohh sorry for your loss, it's very hard to say goodbye to our little babies But that's awesome that you are fostering, it's a wonderful idea. I guess it's too late for your cat, but I am planning on having my dog cremated.

My neighbour, (who has since moved) had a small memorial stone in her garden.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. You memorialize her in your heart.

I have always felt that giving another needy cat a loving home is the greatest tribute to all the love your deceased cat gave you over its lifetime.

I have a really tremendous specialist photo of her next to the chest and that i have her canines collar on proper of the chest. I have both beanie infant dogs my associates gave me as a consolence present and a pair of sympathy playing cards that I received from associates and relations. Have a photo taken of your puppy previously you lose her. shop her admired toy jointly with her little chew marks and then have her cremated and also you ought to do what I did. i'm satisfied to hearken to that you took such good care of your puppy and that she has lived 10+ chuffed years with you! you've been a good puppy figure! astounding needs to you!

Make a nice donation in your cat's memory to a local humane society/animal shelter.
Another idea is to buy a children's book for your local library.
