It's been a year since my guy proposed but every time I ask him where the ring is and when we're actually going to get married, he gets bitchy and doesn't want to talk about it. What does that mean?

After a year, you should be either setting a date or backing off, starting to see other guys. Give him a 2007 calendar and tell him you want it back by the end of the year with a wedding day circled. Or he can find himself another date for New Year's Eve.

Well That means that he has no idea when this wedding is going to take place, mostly because it seems he does not care to make it a priority. You need to sit down and tell him what you want: for example:

"Honey, I know we have been engaged for a year now, and I am ready to start making plans".(Have everything you have looked up ready for him to look at if he gets that far) "Since it is already August, I suppose we could sqeeze in a winter wedding, or we could use that time to plan a classy early spring affair!! And, it will be a great time to honeymoon in hawaii or the caribbean!"

"What do you think darling?"

Ok, now he knows you aren't screwing around about this.... and he can do several things.....

1) he could run like hell (mine did)

2) if he still wants to marry you he will have to agree to whatever you put before him.
However, he obviously wanted to wait and you need to remember that.

3) He could go through with all of it and then be the wrong guy. Don't marry a man who is not DYING to Marry you and make all your dreams come true.

Well 1st off. He might be waiting to get you a ring. But i don't know because its been a year already. I think u should start off by saying things like Honey i think we should get married in (what ever mth you think) of what ever year u had in mind. Then you should throw off hints about what kinda ring u would want. Talk about places you wanna go for your honeymoon. This and that. Because My man gave me the ring after a week of proposing. Now we are starting to put things together for our wedding and honeymoon. If nothing else i hope everything works out for ya. I wish ya all the best. (if he don't work out then find a man who's got a ring when he asks for your hand in marriage

I would say that he is having second thoughts. He is enjoying the relationship and not wanting to go further with this, give him an ultimatium. You have already given him 1 year, how many more are you going to give him???? If he has not even given you a ring????? Come on!!!! He should have given that to you a long time ago!!! So, where is the ring??? Do you have to get one yourself???? Or get it out of the cracker box??? Take care.

It sounds like he may be having second thoughts.
Sit down and have a heart to heart with him. Don't be pushy. Simply ask him what he wants from your relationship, ask him why he gets so upset when you ask.
I will have been engaged for two years when we get married. I was pregnant when we got engaged, and then my brother got shipped to Iraq. I certainly didn't want to get married pregnant! And there is no way I am having a wedding without my brother. So, it was my choice to wait. He told me, whenever I wanted to do it, would be just fine with him.

If it has been one year and still no engagement ring he isn't very serious about marrying u. I got my proposal and ring in Jan and married in Aug.

We were engaged almost 2 years before we got married. Sounds like your guy asked and hoped you forgot- hope everything works out for you

I am sorry to tell you this but, it sounds like your boyfriend is having second thoughts. If you force the issue he will most likely agree that you're not engaged.

I guess the question is, if you've given it this much time and things aren't going well, then what do you do?

Maybe he did it under pressure and he is really not ready. Good luck. We waited 1 yr to actually paln and do the wedding after he proposed.
