When I painted the inside of my house, I was able to buy some paint scent at wal-mart at the same time I bought my paint. Lowes or Home Depot may have it also.
They had many different scents and mixed it with the paint for me....We never smelled the paint, the scent lasted for a month to a month 1/2.
I hope next time we have to paint I can find this stuff.

I added a website here for Smelleze™ Paint Deodorizer Pouch

At the time I had never heard of adding vanilla to the paint.... MIght work

If you're using latex paint, put one teaspoon of vanilla extract into one gallon (3.48 litres) and mix well. It will not affect the color of the paint. Also, when done painting the room, cut one large onion in half and place it in a cake pan. Fill the pan with about 1/2 inch of water and place somewhere in the room. Close the door. Leave for about one day. This does work! The onion absorbs the odors!

Make sure that the room you want to paint is ventilated enough! You can also wear a mask to reduce the amount of odor from the paint.

Fill up a bowl with water. This works I do it every time I paint a room! The water actually sucks in the fumes! Try it!

I've heard putting a lil bit of vanilla in the paint helps but I haven't tried it.

put an exhaust fan in the window of the room to draw the fumes out (or box fan turned so air is blowing out). Have another fan in the doorway to push the air and also speed drying process
