He invited me (back) to his hometown where his parents still live. I brought my 13 year old (then 11) with me, at his request, he bought our tickets. He told us to bring some really snazzy threads...we brought some casual gowns and looked stunning. He took us to Ruth's Chris the day after Valentine's Day of 2005. I felt something was kinda up, but I was unsure because his hands felt clammy and the Maitre'D recognized him, jumped and said, "Okay," and walked in the other direction. Hmmm. He also (my boyfriend at the time) was carrying a box...kinda a large box. He had on a really nice suit, a casual tux actually. We ordered dinner and it was brought to us and we started to eat. He opened the box and handed me a beautiful tan leather scrap book he put together with a story, collages and pictures of himself from childhood, me from my childhood, our friends and family and I didn't see it at first, but one letter per page spelled out "the big question." He'd saved movie stubs, programs from shows we'd attended, EVERYTHING and it was all there in that book. Toward the end he had pictures of my Mom and then my Dad and the dialog of him asking and what my Dad's response was. My Dad is such a character, that is when my brain shut off and went into TOTAL SHOCK mode for the next 18 hours or so. The last page had a picture of my sweetie on one knee in the same outfit, in the same location in the same restaurant, holding a red ring box with a gorgeous diamond ring in it. Written above that were the words, "Will you Marry Me?" When I finished reading...you know, my mind was playing tricks now, I look to my left, and there he is just as he was in the picture. I don't remember saying yes, but I did! Of COURSE I did!!! About 10 minutes later he gave my daughter a beautiful diamond ring, too and asked her to accept him as her family. Someone bought us some champagne and we ate, celebrated and took photos and everything else is such a blur. I'm married to the best man in the world!!

I have been married only once before, which of course only lasted for 3 years because we were not compatible. I don't even recall if he did ask me - he just bought this ring thing and that was it.

However, and 18 years later, I am hoping to meet my beautiful Jack from Florida (I'm in Aussie), maybe this year if all goes well. I hope he proposes to me!

Love and Joy

Well, it was supposed to be 2 days after my birthday in Disney World (I love disney). We planned a vacation to FL and he was gonna do it during the fireworks at night there at disney. Well, two weeks before I was in a freak accident and broke my ankle. We decided to go on vacation anyway and we drove down. I knew he'd bought the ring (no secret I picked the setting)- it was just a matter of when. Before my birthday- he asked what I wanted and I told him since he bought the ring to just get me a card (he'd spent enough on the ring). With this broken ankle, we had to eliminate spending 10 hours at disney (i had to rent a wheel chair). So, on my actual birthday we had cake with his family and he asked if I wanted my card. He's actually tied the ring into the card and wrote "Will you marry me". It was sooo much better than Disney!

Took me for a romantic dinner at a really nice restaurant and proposed on a horse drawn carriage ride before we ate dinner. Then let the restaurant know my answer, they brought a wonderful bottle of Champaign and free dessert to celebrate.

VERY romantic and memorable! I am a very lucky woman!

Mine will win the prize for most unromantic...

We were driving down the road. Without stopping the car or anything, he looks over at me and asks "when are we getting your ring?" We had 'sort of' discussed getting married. I sat there for a few minutes (he keeps driving) and I asked him if he had just asked me to marry him. He looked over at me (still driving) and sort of grinned and said "do you think I did?"

Real romantic...huh? So, do I win the prize????
BTW, we've been married 18 1/2 years, but he still never really ASKED me to marry him!! LOL

Well I went shopping with my niece when I got home my husband bought me a bouquet of flowers lit some candles but when my niece came in she stayed. My mother in law lived out of town and was coming down for the weekend. He wanted to propose to me so his mom could see the ring. My niece stayed late my husband went to bed. The next morning I was bending over blow drying my hair naked and he opened the door and got down on his knees and asked me to marry him. I was shocked because I thought for sure he would of done it differently but he explained he was going to do it the night my niece came over so I said yes and I have been married to him for 5 year now lol.

He took me out to dinner, then to our favorite poolhall to play pool, then took me to the balcony at my dorm that i stayed in my freshman yr of college, a place we had shared many good times. He asked me out on that balcony, and thats where we had our first kiss. We sat down, he turned to me and said "I love you more than anything and i cant imagine my life without you. Will you marry me?" and popped open the ring box.
