unfortunately it takes time... and for everyone that time frame is different. You can opt not to go this party where they will be together and do something else. The whole point in getting over someone is to give it that distance which means no contact or at least limited contact. You need to start dating again, that should help get over an old love. What ever you decide, best of wishes.

You know, I'd like to share you this message I got from my friend; "The important thing is not to be bitter over life's difficulties. Learn to let go of the past and recognize that everyday won't be sunny, and when you find yourself lost in darkness and despair, remember - its only of night that you can see the stars, and those stars will lead you back home. So don't be afraid to make mistakes, to stumble, to fall... because most of the time, the greatest rewards come from doing things that scare you the most." God bless.

Dude, you really can't just turn it off. The coolest thing is to find something that makes you happy (not negative though, like burning him in effigy or whatever). Then whenever you think about him, you can just do your thing with more determination, you'll forget him after a while. Oh, and go out and find some other guy. Don't be picky, guys aren't. You might end up surprising yourself and finding someone you really like, and you don't have to get married to hang out or talk. You can't just think that he's the one and only guy for you that you'll love for ever...he has to reciprocate that in order to validate it. There's TONS of guys, they really dig lots of different girls!!! You'll be so happy by yourself or eventually with someone who is in to you.

Where there's will, there's a way!!! TRY saying something like... you guys are so lovely, you two are made for each other,seriously....and if you love yourself more than you do them, you'll think about what you told them...just be honest, faithful & move on too, that's what i'm doing!!! love is always with you...to make him yours, faithfully go in peace.....wish them happiness & see what next year looks like, it's just around the corner(smile), i feel you sister!!!

honey, i know exactly where you are right now. I'm going through the same thing that I can't get over. I can't get over her. It sucks. Just keep your head up sweetheart. I'm not condoning, but have sex with another guy, it always seems to help if I make it with another girl. Other than that, only time can heal your wounds. Just don't turn to alcohol...I rolled my truck and get busted for a DUI because of that. Stay strong sweetie

I'd like to help you but am a bit confused. Sounds like you like someone that is already spoken for, ah, a true lesson in romance.
You can't steal a heart, it has to be given, and if it belongs to another then you are left with no choice but to deal with your unrequited love. The only thing that heals that is time. And to pass time keep busy.
I want you to find your prettiest party dress or hottest jeans and put them on tomorrow, go to the party. Be cheerful and smile lots. There is someone waiting to meet you, and you are waiting to meet someone, but you can't see him with tears in your eyes and he can't see you if you are holding your head down.
So smile!!!!! He'll find you. Have fun. Let us know how it goes. Good luck.

sorry but i don't think that's possible. getting over someone takes some time. i know from experience. maybe you could take a date to the party in hopes you won't be thinking about the other guy? I know its hard but sometimes you just have to be happy for him and be a good friend by supporting their relationship. who knows if they break up he might look to you.

OH!!! I wish I could help you bunches! I understand how you feel. It sucks doesn't it? Just keep telling yourself that HE missed out and if he can't see how stunning you are, he's BLIND!! I know, it's hard to keep telling yourself that, but if you feel and look confident, he'll see how much he screwed up in not seeing you before!
Without the dark in life, there is no light.
Good Luck!

First, you can stop whining! You do not to seem to really want to get over him. No one is "making" you go to his party and why would you go anyway? You cannot "move on" because you choose not to........plain and simple! Again, make a committment to yourself to give it up......how can I say it any more direct than that? If you go to the party anyway (which I am sure you will).....don't cry and moan to your friends because everyone gets sick of hearing about girls like you. You have the choice to continue in misery or move on!

It's not hard it's mentally... If you set yourself up to have a good time and to forget this guy, then you will be able to do it. If you really must go to this party, then go but have a good time and pretend that his presence and g/f are no biggie to you.... even though inside you will be dieying the secret is to have a good time and not show that it bothers or hurts you! GOOD LUCK, I know you can do it.
